Re: Bishop McCort's New Recruit
Let's understand HOW they report their scholarship money. Any kid, who is offered any scholarship, for any amount, whether OR NOT they decide to go to institution of higher learning is encouraged to bring the letters to the school and they report that as the TOTAL.Keyword here is OFFERED, not RECEIVED!...Do ALL school districts use this same type of scholarship reporting? From experience, I know they don't.LHAC Supporter wrote:its simple ..... parents pay for their kids to go to mccort because it pays off in the long run. Last year the graduating class of 2008 had over 8 million dollars in scholarship money
thats more than westmont richland foresthills and johnstown combined
let me repeat
more scholarship dollars than westmont richalnd foresthills and johnstown combined.
im sensing jealousy ?

Re: Bishop McCort's New Recruit
This is crazy! I come over from basketball and find the same situation. McCort's recruiting stinks! Gosh darn, you'd think they could get more than one player. I mean, they need to get a new recruiter. This is simply unacceptable. All those kid's from J-town, going to play baseball at the next level, and McCort couldn't get four of them. I can't believe they turned down the offers made by McCort's highly trained recruiter. Get rid of the Bum. I can't believe that they have to go the whole way to New Florence to get a ballplayer. Oh well from what I understand, the private helicopter to bring him to class each day will be paid by Richland. Good thing that tuition is covered by ???? I don't know who, maybe you can tell me. Oh well. I'll go see what's happening in Track & field.

Re: Bishop McCort's New Recruit
I would like to see your figures LHAC Supporter and where you got them from that says that information.
I would also lik to see the evidece that clearly stats that "Bishop McCort provides a better life for kids"..... Now by saying this, does that mean they have a higher life expectancy or that they make more money in there life...
Does Bishop McCort offer classes that are that much superior to those offered at a public school? Do they implement college classes in high school making their kids that much smarter then the public schools? I would say no to both.
Also Kenny is very well known in helping his football players get into college to play fooball. This is not a bad thing for a coach to help out their players but lets look at it from a different point of view.
I do not care what anyone says but I bet a large portion of Bishop McCorts yearly scholorship money made by seniors is coming from footall players and the scholorships they recieve.
Now I know colleges down the line like some D 2 and all D3 and NAIA sschools dont have the adequate amount of money in the athleteic departments to give these kids money. So what do they do,,,they offer them academic money. Although sometimes not deserving of it.
To end just please someon show me that Bishop McCort kids have the upprhand in life and are the supposed best.

God loves all the little children of Bishop McCort. He has shown them the light. That is the reason for all the transfers.

Re: Bishop McCort's New Recruit
Guys, call me stupid, but I'm really having trouble here. Bishop McCort offers no advantage in academics, college placement or character development. I'm not going to argue that. I'll agree with you. My question then becomes, what in the world would possess a parent to send their child to McCort? Think about it, they can get their kid an equivalent education and character building enviroment for free. Why pay $5,000 on top of school taxes plus have to provide adequate transportation? I would really love to hear a logical explanation for this one. Otherwise any parent that sends their kid to McCort must be an idiot Keep in mind that it's already been argued that McCort doesn't have any better sports tradition than some other schools and recruiting could not be as rampant as previously mentioned because at some point it would have been exposed. But based on all these other factors recruiting would be useless. Also, a parent could transfer their kid to another public school district as long as they pay tuition, and get school district approval. So why McCort?
Re: Bishop McCort's New Recruit
I play at Homer-Center and if i'm not mistaken i believe we played him last year in the season opener and had a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the 7th and our reliever walked about 7 kids... i know hes a great pitcher, and should help McCort, but nothing spectacular...
