When the BIg Ten therefore ACCEPTS a certain bowl TIE-IN, then Big Ten fans schould not be crying about having to play hard teams. It comes with the territory. Again, the OLD Big Ten would take on all comers and go head to head with them. Nowadays, we gotta hear the "no wonder we lost, we had to play better teams" argument. If you are greedy enough to accept certain bowls and the tie-ins that go with them, then don't make excuses when your teams lose. It's all about the money anyway, right?

Some people are pointless reasoning with. Not once have i ever heard a big ten complain about who they are playing in bowls. They like the matchups. We just laugh at Big East people who lose to the only quality team they play, lose to a horrible Florida State team, and beat their chests while racking up wins against Central Florida, Northern Illinois, north carolina, and south carolina. Why don't you come back when you find any article say what a bad year the big ten had in bowl games other than Mark May

I'll say this also about the B10 bowl games, the B10 WILL go to the south to play all these teams and these games. I understand the weather is nicer this time of year, but the SEC would never play in the Eaglebank Bowl, even as a last tie-in. Traveling 1400 miles to play a game is a hell of a lot different than traveling 200. Even UCLA was man enough to play in the Eaglebank.

Wow I'm not even sure how to debate with you. You do realize that article is regarding last years bowl games, right? Why don't you do yourself a favor and ask any neutral observer which conference had the better bowl year this year the Big Ten or Big East. I'm still waiting for you to make a valid point on this board.

Last year??? This year??? It's all the same. Even Big Ten football coaches know how their conference is perceived by the general sports public. It's time for damage control for the Big Ten. It can start with an IOWA win on Tuesday night. Let's see what happens. And didn't you like that part about the Big Ten's WEAK non-conference scheduling year after year.

What the city of Pittsburgh should do is get someone to sponsor a Three Rivers Bowl. Name it whatever you want. I want to know why the B10 will acknowledge that there's more speed in the south and the conference will still go down there in a hostile environment and play the SEC. But why won't the SEC come up to PA and see if their speed can outlast kids who played in rough weather since peewee?
