I think everyone wishes the Bedford County League were still around. As for a football style Bedford County League, one never existed. It's not feasible to do it in football. Football is it's own scheduling animal and all the leagues in our area, with 10 or 12 teams, are closed meaning, no outside games.
A Bedford County Football League would give the 5 football playing county schools 4 games each and send them scrambling to points unknown for the remainder of their schedule.
For Football schedules to work, you must have 10 or 12 team conferences or have EVERY LEAGUE at 8 or less and agreeing to cross-play like the ICC and MAC did for years before the 2008 realignement.
