no, beating Hickory was refuting the argument that Richland was only good when compared to area teams; Hickory is out of the area.

Good as a team, but no individuals worthy of recognition? C'mon. I have cited stats, then victories over out-of-area opponents, and now this? Ridiculous. I should have followed my first instinct and avoided this topic like the rest.

I am done here. Believe what you want to believe.

Victories over out of area opponents? After they beat FH, who were the other out of the area opponents besides Hickory? yes, Richland DID have individuals worthy of recognition. But having 26% of the area all-stars when you consider 25 OTHER teams is a bit much, wouldn't you say?

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn. I have lost interest in your arguing. You should make another screen name so you can argue with yourself.

I guarantee if it was 13 forest hills players he would be justifying it.

When FH played in the state championship in 1994, they only had about a half a dozen on the all-area team. Of course the competition in the area was MUCH better in those days. Just about EVERY team was good. By the way, I see your buddy Alkwan in now at IUP.

Weren't the Rangers 13-2 that year? It was before the 10th games were started, right? And, since they lost , in 2 OT to Mt. Carmel, Who was their other loss to? Just curious.

In what could have been the best high school game I've seen, FH lost to Bedford 8-0 in the 3rd game of the season (FH always played Bedford as the first sectional game). And at home none-the-less. However, in the playoffs, after FH beat Bald-Eagle Nittany and then Westmont for the District VI championship, FH beat Bedford about 33-7 at Windber Stadium. In those days, District VI played District V after each had won their respective championships.

Thanks Moldy for the memory jog. Any idea how many Rangers made "all district" that season? You seem to have a great memory. ***My bad. Just re-read a couple things on the early part of this thread where you said a half doz. Rangers made it.

I remember QB Justin Myers was the offensive player of the year. Figure that another 5, 6 or 7 made the team. But again, you have to remember how good players were on other area teams. There were several from Vo-Tech that year. Bedford was the team to beat in the LHAC. Somerset had not begun it's decline yet. Neither had Heights. CR, CC, PC, BM, WH, CT, WAHS, Portage ALL had representative teams. Ligonier Valley with Dallas Wharton. United was a top dog. LV was good. The competition was nothing like today. Just about every game was a battle.
