It is expensive but they still do it cheaper than a public school.PApride wrote:Problem with that is most likely they would all b AAA or AAAA and would still have to travel a lot, but they are private schools so shouldn't they all b rich charging kids to attend there?

I have no desire to get into this but first it is not a co-op. If they seperate divisions then I want school vouchers, why should someone who sends their kids to a private have to pay to educate your kids.Blueandwhitefan wrote:formerbcplayer wrote:Then there are issues going the other way. If the publics do not play privates then there will be some serious travel issues, money and time involved for the privates. Look at district 6 there are 4 private schools that play football, after that where do these schools have to go to play games, how far is to far.
There is a simple solution. Count every school a player comes from as a coop and add them to the total. Then they can play in their conference and play their size designation in the playoff's.

So they can get a bus ride to school???? Let's say the government provides a free car for everyone. Now it may be a Ford Focus, but everyone gets one for free. These cars are paid for through the myriad of taxes that everyone pays. Now, if you prefer to drive something else, you have the right to do so, but you have to pay for the other one yourself. So, it is YOUR choice which type of car you wish to drive. Why should anyone who is happy driving a Focus, have to help everyone else pay for a different car???? So why should citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have to help pay for tuitions to private schools???

I don't have kids, hell I don't even live in PA just own property so why should I have to pay for any kid to go to school. If you want privates to count everyone then everyone should hace equal access to go there.El-Moldo wrote:So they can get a bus ride to school???? Why don't public schools have to count the kids from their district who go to a private school.
Re: Private Public School Debate
Many years ago, only land owners could vote. Now, everyone can vote if you are a certain age and register. Years ago, people recognized the importance of education, which benefitted society as a whole. Because of this, it was decided that property owners should help fund education for every child. But if a family wants a "special" educational atmosphere, it is their choice to partake of it, but THEY must pay for the "special" benefit. However, this does NOT excuse them from paying toward the basic education of the area's students. If I own a house in Johnstown, chances are I am not going to ever need the services of the Johnstown Fire Company. BUT, when I pay my city taxes, a certain amount is taken out to support the fire company every year. That's just how it is.

Why don't public schools have to count the kids from their district who go to a private school???? In what regard??? I actually wish they would. Then these public schools would get more subsidies, which are based on attendance. Who wouldn't want money for 1000 students, and have only 800 at the school? Now, if you are talking about sports, there has to be a gauge to determine classification, so an actual count is necessary. Of course, due to SPECIAL considerations, such as no boundaries, last minute transfers, etc etc, some argue that classifications should be moved upward for private schools, as a means of fairness.
