I think Blairsville will finally live up to their potential this year and give BG and Portage good games. They had a lot of injuries last year that I think really set them back. I know Thompson missed 3 games from that freak knee injury after week 3 and he never was the same running threat after that. He still managed to throw over a thousand yards and have a nice season. I believe Livingston and another WR both were out some games with injuries as well as one of their better lineman. It was just one of those season where everything was going wrong. I think they'll be a serious threat this year with everyone healthy, especially a healthy Thompson.

If you're gonna play football on Saturday nights, make sure, since most BM athletes are going to BM for education and religion, that religious training is put into practice, and not cut short.
Playing on Saturday nights isn't anything new, if you recall McCort used to share the Point Stadium with Johnstown, and they typically had the Friday night priority over McCort. BG gets bumped to Saturdays still by Altoona, and Bishop Carroll when they used Central Cambria's field, played home games on Saturdays.
This isn't earth shattering or anything. I think they kept a "playing on Saturday" guideline kept on an old floppy disk in case this situation ever came up again. Hopefully it's still around so they know what to do.

IMO the most intriguing week 1 matchup is reigning D6 AA Champions Central with a trip over the mountain to reigning D5 A Champion Tussey Mountain. Both teams lost a lot of key personnel but Tussey does return just a little bit more. It sounds like it will be more a reload for central than a rebuild.
I seen in the Mirror's "Blitz" that Tussey has averaged over 6 yards a carry since Josh Smith took over as head coach.

I think you may be right. But, after talking to some of the parents, there is still one problem. They need to overcome the personality "Issues" between the players, and be a team.

Well, not too many big games of interest around our way here in Distrct 10 in week 1. Most are non-league games in which the south (Mercer County) will beat up on the North (Erie) as usual. One game pits two local teams that you guys in D-6 might know though. Wilmington plays Grove City. Wilmingon has dropped down to single A this year placing them as an immediate threat to anyone who runs into them in the playoffs (assumming they get there).

They dopped to AA. Everyone around here is dropping in numbers.
