An A team who loses to 5 AAA schools could still be the best of the best A team around. But now you're just arguing to not admit you're wrong

Richland also had 3-4 key players either out before this game or got hurt during the game. Changes things

This sounds great in theory and to all D6 people, but this will start the obligatory conversation D5 vs D6.  District 5 wants no part of playing quality opponents, it is more about hanging a banner in the gym.   Portage has repetitively tried to join and been shut down.   They are not looking to have any more competition.   Is there a team in AAA, AA or A that would have a chance to beat any D6 teams?    Maybe CR gives LV a game.
That's a bunch of garbage. Hanging banners in the gym. Get out of here with that crap. D5 has a lot of schools that people forget about and until the new classes, most were A. D5 Schools If you change things just for football, then that would be fine, but there's a lot of other sports that have to be taken into consideration. Most D6 schools wouldn't want to travel to Southern Fulton or McConnellsburg.
I in no means meant to bust on D5. You could say this about the upper classes in D6. They should have a minimum number of schools to comprise of each district. In fact having Berlin and Ridge in  d6 only makes the tourney stronger. Yes, I do realize we would have to take Everett in as well.

Could Richland beat Ligonier even with those 3-4 key players?  I'm not going to weep about the tenth or eleventh best team in AA not getting a playoff berth.  If you want to make the playoffs win your scheduled games.

A playoff worthy team would beat Somerset and Westmont.

Why have playoffs in any level then? No college playoff, no NFL playoff, etc. Best record in the AFC vs best in the NFC because according to you the underdog will never win anyways. Just do away with districts and interdistricts as well because D5 will "always" lose first round. Just don't know why you care so much. If you're the best team around why be worried about a team that "doesn't deserve to be there". The kids like playing the games, the fans like watching the games, and we like debating about the games. Everything is good.

Ten games is plenty for 3-7 high school teams.  It's time to get ready for basketball season.

You forgot about the MONEY.  It's ALL ABOUT the $$$$$$, and at most schools, football is the CA$H COW that drives the athletic dept. budgets.  The ticket sales, the concessions, the clothing the boosters and various groups sell, the 50/50's.  All part of the machine.
It ain't over until it's over.

That too. I will agree that most of the time a 3-7 or 4-6 team shouldn't be there, but if that's the top 8 then so be it. Didn't a 10 loss basketball team win states a few years back?
