Oh, this season isn't over yet for Mack CLOWN! haha
4 and 5 stars he "passes up"? Or do they go to Oklahoma, deliverance? What's the ratio of 5-star players from Texas who go to UT vs. OU?

I agree the season isn't over, yet. He is 22-4 in his last 26 games against ranked teams. I guess that would be considered pretty good. What about JoePa? Also, Texas has beaten OU 3 out of their last 4 games. In two of those three wins Texas had a 3-star quarterback and in one of those had a 2-star true freshman safety. A big deal is made about the number of stars, but the way a kid handles his business on and off the field can be just as important.

Great performance by two great defenses. Things we learned:
1. OSU's offensive line is terrible for a group that returned 4 starters. They have held the team back all year and were the biggest reason OSU lost.
2. PSU's offense is not as good as advertised. USC had little problem moving the ball against the same OSU defense. PSU's offense is good, but not elite.
As for how PSU will do, I think they need to hope that someone goes undefeated. I like their chances against Texas, Alabama or Texas Tech more than USC or Florida. In fact, I would give them little chance against either of those. Paterno is a good bowl coach, but the only big game Pete Carroll has lost in the past six years is to Vince Young and Texas. Florida might be the most talented team in the country and is definitely the fastest. I like PSU over Alabama or Texas Tech. I think a Texas game could go either way depending on how well they defend the Longhorns.
I hope they do well because it gives OSU a shot at the Rose Bowl.
I also am tired of hearing about Paterno. What real impact does he have on this team? I think the team benefits from his being less involved. Too bad he has killed their recruiting for the past 3 years. After these seniors graduate, there will be rough times ahead for PSU.

I'd like to know where you think the hurting is gonna come for PSU the next few years. Astorino is a very good safety, just as good as Scirotto. And he's only a freshman. Aaron Maybin(Sophomore) and Mo Evans(Junior) will be back. Along with Navarro Bowman(TRUE FRESHMAN) Sean Lee (Junior) Jerome Hayes(Junior) Josh Hull (Junior) all back at LB next year for the Nittany Lions. And with Michael Mauti (Freshman) Nathan Stupar (Freshman) playing in spots this year and have played well on special teams all year, they're not gonna be lacking at LB for years to come. Jared Odrick(Junior) and Ollie Ogbu(Sophomore) are back on the defensive line next year as well. Almost forgot A.J. Wallace as a Junior at CB.
That's just the defensive side of the ball.
Next year they get Clark back on offense. Along with Evan Royster (Sophomore), Brett Brackett (Sophomore), Derrick Moye (Freshman), Chaz Powell (Freshman) and Graham Zugg(Freshman) all back as offensive weapons for Clark to utilize. The line will be fairly new, but PSU has put out decent lines the past few years. And with the Spread HD offense, that takes a lot of responsibility off of the O-line.
Penn State loses 4 of 5 offensive linemen, and will have 3 sophomores and 1 junior to step in behind them. They lose D. Will, Deon Butler, and Jordan Norwood, which I will admit is a huge loss, but with Brackett, Zugg, Moye, and Powell behind them, there won't be as big of a fall off as most people will think. They'll have Quarless back, assuming he stays out of trouble for the next 2 years. Penn State loses a little bit, but they're younger than most people realize, and they're gonna stick around the top of the Big10 for years to come. Don't forget they've gained huge interest in 4 and 5 star WR's over the past 5 weeks. It's amazing what wins in huge situations will do for recruiting.
Outside of Pryor, who does Ohio State coming back?

Listen to him cry about losing to Penn State.
"PSU's offense isn't as good as advertised". OSU did return 9 defensive starters from a team who played for the national title 2 years in a row. I guess you figured PSU would score 70 points in Columbus against them. If that game would have been on a neutral field or at PSU, Penn State would have obviously won by 95 points, like everyone else has against Ohio State. Hey, I'm just going by history.
There will always be excuses by the following fans no matter what ever happens:
1. Ohio State
2. Pittsburgh
3. Florida
4. Notre Dame
How'd all-american linebacker James Laurenitis play on Saturday, Wildcat? He did as well as he always does when OSU plays in a big game. How'd all-american CB Jenkins play, Wildcat? How'd Beanie Wells play, Wildcat? You are real quick to say how awesome he is in big games DESPITE Penn State's track record against top-ranked RBs!!!
Ohio State lost another game against a top ranked team, and once again Jim Tressel eludes all criticism.
And if Penn State does not play for a national title this year, or Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, NW, Indiana, Purdue, Iowa, MSU, or Minesota, take a guess who's fault it is. When are you gonna start holding that bozo responsible?
Too bad he has killed their recruiting for the past 3 years. After these seniors graduate, there will be rough times ahead for PSU.
Sometimes it is nice when people do research before opening their mouth.

Looks to me like Penn State is doing fine. You know who isn't looking good for next season? OHIO STATE!!!!!
Yes, PSU's recruiting sucks. Penn State has NEVER had a history of finding diamonds in the rough. Ya know what's really funny? For all the supposed 5-star players OSU gets, how many national championships has it gotten them? I'll tell ya what I have noticed, buddy. Tressel encouraging players to go pro when they have a chance. You're the biggest choke artists this side of Oklahoma. Another NFL factory that disappoints time and time again.
I love when people refuse to use google. Name me the last time PSU was mauled in a bowl game? Does Joe Paterno have a unique ability to win bowl games that he has no business winning?
Things that make you go HMMMMMMMMMMM!

I agree with a lot of points above. The only question I have is should anyone ever get mauled in a bowl game? They match it up so that both teams are pretty even and unless you are playing for the National Championship against a superior team, then you should never get mauled.

Notre Dame has a HUGE history of getting mauled in bowl games. Look up the last time Pitt was in a bowl game. That's 2 in a very short period of time. ND, in 2001, got destroyed by Oregon State 41-9. In 2003 they lost to N.C. State, 28-6. Oregon State 38-21 in 2004. Ohio State 34-20 in 2006. LSU 41-14 in 2007. And that's only their last 4. They've lost 9 in a row. You'd have to go back to 1994 to see the last time Notre Dame won a bowl game.

ham, I think we both know why one school has a history of getting mauled. Notre Dame always gets in a bigger bowl than they should, especially when they make a BCS bowl. They are the exception to the rule. 90% of the other games are evenly matched.

Ok. How about these scores?
Tulsa 63 Bowling Green 7
West Virginia 48 Oklahoma 28
USC 49 Illinois 17
Georgia 41 Hawaill 10
Missouri 38 Arkansas 7
Oregon 56 USF 21
Those are just from 2008's bowl season. Want me to go further?
