Crimson's Ghost wrote:Last year's refs were pretty bad, but up until the last 5 minutes they did a fine job. That was a fluke, and ultimately cost Bellwood the game. BUT either way how the refs called it, that game was a one score game either way. Point being, these teams are the two best teams in District 6 A. This is the District Championship in my mind.
Clairton and Rochester are playing this week out of the same district. Point being, these are the two best teams playing in the state. This is the State Championship in my mind.

Disagree with you on that being the State Championship. Sto Rox is better than Rochester, hence why Rochester is in the same side of the bracket as Clairton and Sto Rox being the #2 seed.
Sto Rox has a Pitt recruit, Syracuse recruit, and a 4 star prospect who is undecided but has an offer from just about everywhere. And they beat Rochester during the season.
Rochester and Clairton should be a solid game regardless, it always is. And Don't sleep on Southern Columbia, one of the best programs in all of Pennsylvania.

Not only is Sto-Rox better then Rochester, but Southern Columbia is better than Rochester and Sto-Rox.

Credit Coach Fetzer and his staff for their win last night in Cresson. They really had a good game plan. Much better than last time...that's for sure.
The bottom line in Sidman is that Forest Hills wasn't really able to play Forest Hills Football this year. Grind it, pound it, football. Reason being is that they didn't have the horses up front. The line took a huge blow losing the Saunders boy to a shoulder injury, and really didn't have the depth to fill in.
For any fan of a program the caliber of Forest Hills obviously losing in the first round stings a bit. However, considering what the G&G lost the last two years due to graduation 8-3 is a solid season, especially considering that A. Unger was injuried the first half of the year. The Seniors of this team really stepped it up and continued the tradition of excellence.
Next year will be an interesting season at Forest Hills. The bad news is that we graduate a pretty good QB in Justin Gdula, and lose a couple quality lineman. The worse news is that the line play is going to be a HUGE concern next season. The Rangers may be so desperate that they move up a Freshman (who is capable) to start at guard next year.
The good news is that Forest Hills may be as loaded at the skill positions as they have been in recent memory. Shawn Dell had a nice year, Pinkas will be another year older, Shope developed into a true game breaker as a Junior, Jared Krug and Dusty Ohler will be ready to contibute next year as Juniors, and Joe Donoughe and Shariff Blough will hopefully prove that moving them up as Freshman was the right move as they make plays for the Varsity team next year.
The QB situation looks to be completely up in the air. The OG doesn't think Shope can be that guy because he can do so many other things, but as Don showed this year, I'm sure we'll see more of the Wildcat from him in 2012. The other QB reps look to be decided between Junior Tyler Schema and Sophomore Joe Donoughe.
Of course, it has been rumored that this was the final season for Coach Bailey. The OG HIGHLY doubts that.

Ah you silly boys are right. Sto-Rox and Clairton is the State Champ game and will come with time in district 7. Southern Columbia just doesn't play the
strength of schedule of these teams.

I wouldn't exactly say SCA doesn't have the strength of schedule Clairton and Sto Rox has. SCA lost by 1 point to the #6 ranked team in AA. So that's not exactly chopped liver. But as of right now its impossible to know if SCA is better than Sto Rox, Clairton, or even Rochy at this moment. Hell for all we know SCA could be 30 points better than those 3 teams. McCort and Riverside definitely had their chances to beat Clairton. We won't know these facts until the ball is kicked off, and who knows... just maybe Sharpsville is just that good as well. Don't count out a Pius X as well.

Its not like Clairton has been tested this year relatively easy schedule. SoCo has played AA and AAA teams.
