Dee Gordon must be in a Hanrahan to LA deal. We already have 6 or 7 guys I'd would rather have in the rotation than Capuano. I would put Capuano in the same class as Karstens who just got non-tendered. Shortstop is the biggest weakness in the organization along with 1B. Gordon could hold down that position for awhile.

If Buccos can get Gordon as part of Hanrahan deal, that would be great.

I still think SPing has to be at the top of the FO's priority list though. Take a look at the pitchers on the 40 man roster. That is one iffy list of pitchers.

Buccos agree to 2yrs , 7mil/yr deal with Francisco Liriano this morning, pending a physical....well, this makes a Hammer deal interesting. Will they go for more pitching, or a Dee Gordon type? In the back of my head I'm saying noway, but my heart is saying"Gordon////!!! please, Gordon"... we'll see.

Liriano isn't a bad deal, but he could be Bedard all over again. I think he will fare better, a little more velocity should help.

As of now I see Burnett, Wandy, JMAC, Liriano, and I think we can roll with Locke or somebody until Cole is ready in June. Not a horrible rotation. I'd like to groom McPhearson to be the Hammer's replacement down the line.

They will roll with Morton in the 5 spot and Locke in pen barring injuries....
I'd stretch that to 2b/ss because they aren't sure on Walkers back yet. That's what makes a Gordon deal perfect. Makes Barmes a great insurance policy and utility guy...the Phillies just spent 12 mil on a setup guy, if we aren't spending big money on pitching, they better on defense and at plate. Plus Gordon is young, team him with Cutch, Marte , and maybe Walker, and you got a core group, which by the way is strong up the middle...OMG that actually makes sense, it won't happen

I like it. I can see some comparisons to Bedard, but Liriano is younger and has a lot more upside. Hopefully he is completely over his arm troubles and can focus on hitting spots instead of worrying about getting hurt.

Multiple reports are saying the Pirates are targeting Dee Gordon from LA(24yo SS) and Jose Iglesias of Boston (22yo SS)

saw that...the kid in Boston is a bit more of a risk(buttload of talent) .Gordon is still a pup and has proven he belongs with best years still in front of him...I'd be happy with either, but Gordon may cost more I still want him, but knowing the cheapness at heart Mang. Id be more prone to believe Iglesius

Iglesius can't hit at all. Over a full season his ceiling is around a 260 avg with 3 or 4 bombs. I don't care how good his glove is, dude has no upside at the plate.
