LOL. There isn't a wide recruiting market for a 6-0 power forward anymore.
I don't care what anyone believes or thinks or what's true or not. I just want to hear names, proof, evidence. Something. Substance.

True, I have always said it happens private/public both ways for as long as HS athletics have gone on. Maybe not in the rural parts of district 5, but thins happen on both fronts.
But I actually do think the Clairton kids are in fact Clairton kids. I have never heard anything to the contrary. It was my understanding Boyd, Webb, and Howard grew up together and have been dominant since Pee Wee football.
It is not crazy to think a small town can be talent, Aliquippa is one of the biggest football hotbeds in the state. Those kids just work hard and play in a winning system.
Do schools like Gateway, North Allegheny, Woodland Hills recruit? Absolutely.

I'm sure there are public's that do it as well but two wrongs don't make a right. If you're talking about the annual contenders in A like Clairton or Southern Colombia I wouldn't doubt it and it probably goes on even more at the higher levels. All I can say is at our school that's not the way we do it. Pretty much every player has been on the same team since they started playing and pretty much all the other A programs in this area are the same way.

WPIAL rules Hipp ineligible
The WPIAL board of control ruled Monday that Greensburg Central Catholic’s Billy Hipp is ineligible for the coming season because it believed that Hipp’s transfer from Bishop McCort – at least partially – was motivated by athletic intent.
Last season, Hipp was a part of a Bishop McCort squad that finished 19-9, captured the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference crown and advanced to the second round of the PIAA Class AA tournament. A 6-foot-3 guard, Hipp averaged 14.7 points per game last season and 13.9 points per game in 2011-12.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Hipp is expected to appeal the decision to the PIAA.
At least partially, how bout fully motivated!
See boys even McCort athletes get recruited!

Seems it is okay to recruit a kid away from a public school, but when it is done from a catholic school to another one the argument that it was for religious freedom disappears. Interesting.

Kudos to the WPIAL for having a PAIR and sticking to their guns. Too bad the PIAA doesn't do the same. Hipp recruited? I doubt that. It seemed like a big case of EGO, and wanting to get more 'exposure' so he'd get better COLLEGE recruiters to come knocking. His family rolled the dice and lost. Kind of like an IRS audit, most times they let stuff slide, but once in awhile they really crack down. Now, what does young Mr. Hipp do from here? He can't play for Greensburg CC. Can he come back to BMCHS? Would he want to, and would his FORMER teammates WANT him to come back? Kiss and make up? All is forgiven? Turn the other cheek? The drama continues.

PIAA overturns WPIAL 90% of the time. WPIAL always seems to have a deny first and ask questions later mentality. I would be interested to see if other schools see this and start challenging transfers INTO McCort
