Considering they wouldn't be able to run the "WeakPAC Spy" on him cause they'd have to cover the receivers...he'd be the best tackler I'd seen since Joe Montana

Don't know why everyone always has to put down high school players. Both guys had great years and anyone on here would love to have either one of them on their team. Imagine if they were on the same team??? That would be something to see. Both would be even better.

I think the pole is off. I went with Irwin because when this year started he wasn't going to be carrying the rock at BG. Did a great job filling in for Chadbourne. Oh yea and he turned out to be a top notch replacement

I'll agree with that. Just looking statistically. Similar yardage, not quite the scoring, but I think Smith's run threat helps open things up a bit more whereas Highberger was strictly a pocket passer

So the best running back to ever come out of D5 is D2 level talent.
I think for D I you better be special and being the stud at any high school does mean success at that level. There are a lot of good football players out there.

DII and DIII your not playing for the scholarship or the money they are giving you because it doesn't cover it all. It doesn't come close for that matter. If football was over tomorrow the kid better love the school. Its a preference of what route you prefer a PSAC school, which offer an education, or some private schools on the DIII that provide that little extra. There isn't always much difference in talent. I know of many first team all state players that are at smaller schools by choice.

I think we get wrapped up in whos better, bottom line go get what you can get for nothing for playing a game. If its 25 to 50% that's money in the bank.

an example

Keith Batkowski - Montoursville
Rushed for 1920 yards a year ago

Hank, Brandon Fochtman , best running ever in westpac, best ever in Somerset county but shouldnt  he have gone D1 since he dominated the Westpac?  Why isn't he playing at the highest level in college, just look at the stats he blew up at Berlin.   Please don't bring up his size, Larod was same size.
Well, I'll break this down line by line for you, since you have a personal vendetta against me and you're so much fun.
1. If Tyler Boyd had played in the WestPAC, would he still not have been great?
2. BRADEN is playing at HIS highest level and a great division II program.
3. Yes, Braden is 5' 8" and Larod 5' 7", but Braden was listed as a 4.55 and Larod a 4.48
So the best running back to ever come out of D5 is D2 level talent.
It is what is is. Does it make you feel all mighty and powerful?

Travis Rearick from FH and Steve Franco from Tyrone, Marco Pecora, little old school but Nate Crookshank from BC had similar talent as far as D6 guys.   All were good at the D2 level.  3 of them even started out D1 and ended up at D2

Konjo78 it's is now obvious that you have 0 knowledge of football in fact I question if you have ever watched an actual football game in your life time. Just so you know, Smith is the best player on both sides of the ball regardless of his competition. This summer LV went to Pine Richland to complete in a 7on7 which featured some of the best and most storied high school football programs in the state. These schools included Pine Richland, Erie Catherdral prep, neshannock, aliquippa, Indiana, Chartiers valley, Woodland Hills (who has the most NFL players from a single high school in the NATION) Central Valley, and clairton. And Smith shredded woody hills in the first game which LV WON! They went on to play Pine Richland in the championship but before that smith picked apart Erie cathedral prep again. Then they made it to the CHAMPIONSHIP where they eventually lost to Pine Richland who has one of the best qbs in the NATION who has commuted to notre dame. And if I heard correctly smith picked him off the first drive and took it to the house. That just goes to show your oh so impressive knowledge for football. It's scary that you know more about players talent than JIM HARBAUGH. Where did you play college ball?
