Makes about as much sense as 8-man football IMO

Are cancelations predominantly in single A?

Non-covid cancellations have predominantly been in Single-A.

Of the 80 football playing single-A schools, 60 of those reside in Western Pa (Districts 5,6,7,9,10). Eastern Pa doesn't have tiny schools like we do here, so we sort of feel the impact more.

Trust me I did not get how 8 man football would l/could work when I first heard it being used for small schools out west but it does its job perfectly. 3-4 people on the line, QB with skill players still allowed for the fundemental football game to be played at the highschool level.

It would really help programs from closing up and forcing these small A schools to field a roster for the 11 player model.

Ok. My question is this… do 8 man team schools only play other 8 man teams or are schools that can field a normal team forced to play 8 man just those weeks?

Imagine playing normal 11 man all year and have to adjust everything you do for one game!

No, it would be a separate classification in itself. There would be an 8-man state championship and that's what those teams would play all season long. A lot of other states have this already for small rural schools.

Would it really make a big difference? Is a team with 14 kids who are bad in 11 man football going to be good at 8 man football? 3 players just doesn’t sound significant

What three offensive positions do you play without in eight man football?

Offensively you lose the tackles and one skill position

Yel. And having 14 players in 11 man mean you have 3 subs...

With 8 man its 6 subs. Thats a huge difference in working players in.
