TURKOVICH RETURNING TO BEDFORD????
http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=407& ... id=1158670
Here I will help...
He is SOLID as he wrestled at 152, cutting about 10-15 pounds. He was a JUNIOR so he should be able to get up to about 175-180 at the end of HS which would be very good I'd think....
He is projected as a RB or DB. I think it will come down to need for Pitt when they decide where to move him.

WOW! I just did a search of prospects from theinsiders.com
Lots of local guys are getting D1 attention:
Shane Hankinson DE, Berlin
http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=407& ... id=1200554
Troy Harris QB, Bedford
http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=407& ... id=1200438
Mitch Rhodes DE, OLB, Altoona
http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=407& ... id=1142897
Tom Hall OL, Central (Not sure if this was a misprint...I don't know who this kid is)
http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=407& ... id=1200427
Zach Haulman G, Altoona
http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=407& ... id=1152619
Ben Maderia OL, Forest Hills
http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=407& ... id=1174177
I didn't list the 3 or so from McCort because who knows where they are really from. I didn't list the one from Carroll because of (see above). Johnstown had one more kid listed. I also didn't list D. Harris because he is listed in the wrong class, so Insiders probably have an error doubling him as Troy or something. I'd say there are 10 more guys from D5/6 that I didn't list. If you want to check them for yourself you can go to http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=407& ... =4&yr=2005
This area is so terrible!!!!

I am glad that we have you coach so Hollywood can't put himself up TOO high. It would be a dang shame if he thought he was the only good player to ever come out of D 5/6. That would just suck if there were actual real life people who might contend with the almighty god of HOLLYWOOD!

We will see how well they do IF any of those guys do well at D-IA schools!! I can't help it that this area has no skill or talented players to make it fair when you are way above them in talent. Just shows that you can shine like a bright star if you want to play at D-IA football. It is a whole new ballgame at D-IA football and we will see their careers there when or IF they get there and play. Comparing L. Stephens to AZ and those other players, give me a break!! Please stay at Central or the COVE because that is just nonsense. I thought those dumb redneck statements were over!!!!

Wow, men in their mid-20's bashing young kids and the area which produced you. I am proud to have graduated from Everett High, proud to get grease on my hands, proud to have lived in a broken down trailor with a 9" B&W tv for the better portion of my life...I am proud to say that that has made me the young man that I am today, who loves to serve the Lord, and can make a success of his life coming from those beginnings. I will be proud to raise my children as God-loving residents of Bedford County!
The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, "The Lord is with you oh valiant warrior." Judges 6:12
Yeah, I still think DB is his position. I didn't like the blast on Larod. I guess the rules to BC should state that Hwood was the ONLY guy that ever did anything from this area and no one else matters.

Very well said 4Him ... I think we should all be proud of our area and the things that we have been able to accomplish athletically and not run down those who are attempting to make a name for themselves. A little story I would like to share...in the early 90's a local athlete was making a big name for himself and there were a lot of people out there...we'll call them Hollywood's...and these Hollywood's were questioning whether the big fish in the small pond was just racking up numbers vs poor competition and perhaps influences, like his father, were the only reason he was getting Div. I attention. These Hollywood's felt that this young man was perhaps only a I-AA or II player as he was a little undersized as a high schooler as well. These Hollywood's were seriously questioning even after this young man signed Div. I as to whether he would ever cut it or not.
Well, that young man did very well at Penn State, had a pro tryout as a free agent and did this area proud. Not only that, he shut the "Hollywood's" of the world up and opened the gates for his younger brother who followed suit and did very well himself. There weren't Hollywood's running around bashing/questioning this young man though because the point had been proven beforehand by the big brother. It's a shame there are still Hollywood's out there questioning ALL of the area's recruitable athletes, some of whom won't make it but at least there worthy and good enough to be recruitable and be scouted. Some, undoubtedly will make it like the guy in my story, some will be recruited and won't for whatever reason cut it.
To come out and say that every kid from D5-6 who is on the Top 100 list is a joke and not make it is absolutely absurd and point blank say that the top recruit, someone who already has signed DI and had lots of interest from many DI's (although apparently not WVU!) isn't worthy reminds me of the Hollywood's that ran rampant through Bedford County in the early 90's when that kid from Northern Bedford County showed them the big fish in the small pond could get it done at a major university.
