SO he felt he could do better for himself on another team. What can PSU do to try to stop this from happenning in the future?

Have they ever had a player transfer into their program?

So what you are saying is that they wanted to play for Bruce Parkhill. Jim Boeheim runs a good program at Syracuse. I dont beleive that transfer set the Orange back to far. How was the move for Glenn and PSU?

Both transfers were a big plus for Parkhill and Penn State. I'm not saying they wanted to play for Parkhill. You asked, I delivered. Who knows why they transferred. Academics? Wait a minute...that's in high school. I forgot. Anyway, both may have been riding the pine and wanted to move on. I don't know.

Because it's outside of the rules of the playing field. Moldo has stated this earlier, if this were the case for every team and every person who felt they were slighted, it would be just like professional ball, trying to make the best fit for you and your lonesome. Someone will get shafted out of the deal, it's plain and simple, instead of going to another school, work your **** off and beat out the person who is ahead of you. Or isn't there anything like that anymore, if you can't get what you want, don't work hard, just transfer...

Obviously Ham working hard and earning the opportunity to play is priority one. The point is there are dynamics that create a situation where a move is warranted. In those instances there should be a "legal" avenue for that to occur.

Nobody is advocating doing something illegal. The emphesis is that the rules need to be modified.

It will do more positive things than negative.

Well if you want a legal thing, MOVE TO THE DISTRICT IN WHICH YOU WANT TO PLAY IN.

convince your parents that you're getting lowballed and tell them to sell the house and up and move districts. See how well that flys...

That would be great for the kid, let them go. However, make the parochial schools play by the same rules as the public schools. Meaning they would have to take on the enrollment of the district that the kid is coming from. We'll see how likely players are to transfer to parochial schools if they are playing AAAA.

Good point runner. I agree 100%.

Question for someone in the know. Does Philadelphia still have open enrollment. I'm pretty sure that District 8 (Pitt. City league) does.

What an advantage!

Go to the best football school in the fall then transfer to top notch basketball school in the winter and in the spring to best baseball school. Can Philly kids still do this? I had heard that was one the sticking points to Philly joining the PIAA. How was it resolved?
