I think you are referring to Jesse Jones, although I do believe he did graduate at the age of 19 (so I have heard). If you knew your facts you would know that Jones was a junior when he had a 90 yard run in the state championship making him 17.

Some kids start 1st grade when they are 5. Some start when they are 6. Some are held back a year deliberately by their parents sometime prior to their entering HIGH school. Some kids are stupid enough to flunk a grade or two, but manage to get enough 'smarts' to get them through high school when they finally get there. Some kids have had debilitating injuries or illnesses that prevented them from going to school for a whole year. There are various reasons why a student/ athlete graduated at age 19. For crying out loud, it's not like Jesse Jones is JAMEL FORTSON, wrestling as a SOPHOMORE for Mt. Union, at the age of 19. That's, as this generation says, is WHACK.
