Re: Evolution, the Bible, and relative truth...
I felt these are lyrics that you "Christians" need to hear(with the exception of count who seems to be the only true Christian in this argument)
No more
The crap rolls out your mouth again
Haven't changed, your brain is still gelatin
Little whispers circle around your head
Why don't you worry about yourself instead?
Who are you? Where ya been? Where ya from?
Gossip burning on the tip of your tongue
You lie so much you believe yourself
Judge not lest ye be judged yourself
Holier than thou
You are
Holier than thou
You are
You know not
Before you judge me, take a look at you
Can't you find something better to do?
Point the finger, slow to understand
Arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand
It's not who you are, it's who you know
Others' lives are the basis of your own
Burn your bridges and build them back with wealth
Judge not lest ye be judged yourself
Holier than thou
You are
Holier than thou
You are
You know not
Who the hell are you?
No more
The crap rolls out your mouth again
Haven't changed, your brain is still gelatin
Little whispers circle around your head
Why don't you worry about yourself instead?
Who are you? Where ya been? Where ya from?
Gossip burning on the tip of your tongue

Who am I? I am one who has been saved by the grace of God! Right, I am not "natural". Only those who have not accepted Chrict is considered "natural". I understand why you guys get so offended. When you are faced with the choice, accept totally or pick and choose your life then it offends you. You don't like being put on the spot. You don't like to think that you have a choice and the way you have chosen is wrong. I realize that "we wrestle not with flesh and blood". That it is the devil, and he uses people. I am not offended by what you say. I feel bad for you. I will just continue to tell the truth. The truth can be offensive and some can come off holier than thou. Certainly, for those who are lost, they would feel this way. I wish you luck, and hope you allow God to change your ways and realize that He is the only way!

So even if i accept God...which i have, i am still just natural because i haven't accepted Christ as my savior? I'm sorry that i don't think he was anything special sure he taught people to live their lives the correct way but, as we have all discussed man is fallible....if i recall correctly, even the bible says Jesus was a man. Therefore, Jesus is fallible, so what's the difference in believing what he said to what Buhdda said? And let's not get into the "he was inspired by God" talk again there are many people who claim to be inspired by God (including bums who beg for money and a lot of people that are on drugs). So who's to say that Jesus wasn't taking a puff or two from the houka? Or even drunk, let's not forget, he's the guy that wasn't satisfied with water....he had to turn it into wine.
And, i am not offended by the truth at all; on the other hand i am quite offended by hypocracy and belittleing because i have the balls to question you. I'm not a bible scholar, but from what i remember there was stuff in there about judge not lest ye be judged yourself, and love thy neighbor as thyself. Not love thy neighbor as thyself unless he questions your religion. Thats kind of like Kim Jung Il looking at Ghandi and telling him he is to intense.
Christianity is a wonderful faith, with wonderful morals. But because of people like CoachK and Futbolfrk who consider themselves to be Christian i refuse to ever be called "christian" so that I am never affiliated with those types of thoughts.

and i don't know who you think your savior is CoachK...but i'm pretty sure i've never heard of this "Chrict" guy... who is he? all joking aside. Got a question for you. When the slaves were in America working on the plantations... the Whites felt superior to them and the slaves took offense? when the egyptions held the hebrews captive as slaves did they take offense? when you (not saying this applies to anyone here) got a bad score on a test when they normally do good and someone comes up and rubs their good grade in your face, do you take offense? just because you feel you're superior to everyone doesn't make you right... humans are humans whether they be "natural" whatever the heck that means or a bum on the street or the richest man on earth... they're still human and still have the same understanding and still cannot comprehend the full wonders of God... even you coachK cannot comprehend God so i don't see any reason for you to be preaching to us how God wants us to live our lives. Christianity has some good ideas and good thoughts... but it's the fundamentalists like you that bring it down and that's really sad. God bless.

Re: Evolution, the Bible, and relative truth...
Your right count, I can't fully comprehend God and His greatness. I think the Bible says, His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than ours! There are things the natural man can't understand, and apart from Christ as your savior, you are natural and can't understand. I don't claim to know Gods ways intimately, but I do know Christ and I trust that He is in control and has a purpose for His people. Walter your lack of understanding continues to shine through. Yes Jesus was a man, and totally God. But from reading your comments about your background, I certainly understand why you believe the things you do, but you are deceived. If stating the truth is being judgemental, well then so be it. I don't think it is being judgemental. I just think it is offensive, and thus spun to make it seem like I am judging. The Bible is the TRUTH, you either accept it or deny it, no middle road. No making it what I want to make it. The TRUTH! Accept it or deny it. If you sit on the fence you deny it. Only God can change your heart. I need to stop challenging you guys, because my intent is not to make you bitter. I hope and pray for you both that someday you will accept Christ as your savior. It is not just enough to to know Christ!

but here's the thing... Moldy's whole problem with evolution if i remember correctly, is that evolution is being taught as fact. how can you teach the bible as fact or "truth" as you call it when you said yourself coachk that you have no idea. no one knows. I believe that moldo's problem with evolution is the same problem i have with the bible, it's taught as truth and fact when the true fact is no one really knows, we can only take what we are given and make a guess... a christian's guess comes from a book... an evolutionist's guess comes from what they observe around them and from what they find. Both guesses, but here's the thing, there are numerous ways that the truth could actually pan out. It could be that between evolution and the bible one is totally right (highly unlikely as that would mean it is perfect and obviously humans are not), both are partially right, one is partially right, both don't have any truth to them at all... you can choose your path, i'll choose mine... i just happen to go with both are partially right, the fact of the matter is you can't prove me wrong and i can't prove you wrong so what's the point in arguing?

count2infinity says "I believe that Moldo's problem with evolution is the same problem i have with the Bible, it's taught as truth and fact". OH REALLY????? Where???? Tell me where, other than in a church or Christian school or college, that The Bible is taught as truth and fact???? I'll bet that in 99.9% of public institutions, such as public schools and non-private colleges, evolution IS TAUGHT AS FACT to a captive audience who have NO recourse to dispute it, or hear NO other side of the story. The Bible is NEVER, EVER mentioned!!! Don't tell me that the Bible is being taught as truth and fact IN ANY PUBLIC FORUM. It is ONLY taught as fact in institutions affiliated with Christianity.

moldo... what percentage of kids are forced to go to sunday school when they're young? what percentage of kids in america know who adam and eve are and how they came to be... i'm willing to be well over 60% for the first and 90% for the second... how many of those kids know evolution? none... the church has the privilege to mold their minds first and thus they will always have these preconceived notions that creationism is the way it happened, just because a few of us broke that mold and started teaching a different way doesn't mean you have to get your panties in a twist over it... if anything the evolutionist should be the one's that are upset about it.
