Central vs Forest Hills
Re: Central vs Forest Hills
i was in attendance of the game tonight and it was one of the best highschool football games ive seen in a while. hats off to both teams. mehall from fh is a stud and their line was soo much bigger than centrals d line. runk for central was a gamebreaker. cafferty the TE made some huge plays when the dragons needed it most. i still am curious why the fh coach elected to kick off in the second half?? take nothing away from central they played a great game. should be a good one next week at mansion!!

Re: Central vs Forest Hills
Congrats to Central! They played really well and never took a back seat. I think every person in the Central school district was in attendance and fired up for tonight. I think everything seem to work out for Central (double reverse pass that was fumbled, qb throw back, 4th down conversion down 12-0 on their own 36) and on the flip side everything went against FH. I feel the sloppy field kind of leveled the playing field and gave Central an opportunity to win. I was surprised with the athletes they had on their team, because they never had them when they were in the LH. Tonight may have been a matter of over looking Central and giving them no respect.
The only thing I can not stand is the FH Faithful quickly questioning Mr Bailey's play calling, decisions, etc. When the team is winning everyone loves him, but at the end of every year people run their mouths about him losing the games by his play calling/decisions. His decision to kick off both halves was, I am sure a thought out process, which really worked out the way it was planned. They ended up with great field position but threw a costly int. Everyone should remember Mr Bailey is one of the winningest coaches in PA and has done great things at FH.
Hats off to the Central players, coaches, and Martinsburg Community! This was the first time the opposing team had more fans than FH at Miller Stadium. What happen to the Excellence is the Tradition at Forest Hills? Far from the 90's Ranger teams, thats for sure. However Mehall is a complete STUD!

why do the fh fans feel obligated to come on here & defend their coaches decisions....How can you have a choice & end up against the wind in the 4th qtr.?? We should remember he is " one of the winningest coaches in PA"....well if you have coached since like 1968, I hope you have a few wins! But look @ big games in recent yrs...I believe he has lost 8 of last 12 to BM, 5 of last 6 to Tyrone, 2 in a row to CC & now a home playoff game to Central. Not being a Math major, looks to me like less than a 20% winning record in these games...4 wins in 21 contests....ouch! But I'm sure the game plans and such were well thought out processes!!knightrider wrote: His decision to kick off both halves was, I am sure a thought out process, which really worked out the way it was planned. Re: Central vs Forest Hills
Forest Hills decided that they wanted to kick off to start the 3rd quarter which actually worked out really well for them. They thought they would get better field position off of a 3 and out punt than from a kickoff which worked because they ended up getting it at the 46. Forest Hills defered the first half so they had to choose to kick or receive and chose to kick. Then that gave Central the choice of which way they wanted to receive. They chose to have the wind with them in the 4th quarter. So the Forest Hills coaching staff didnt mess up and it wasnt there fault that about the wind. Central decided that.
Congrats to Central they played one great game. Runk played hard and is one of the most athletic kids ive seen around in a while. In the game Saturday night, he broke the Central single season rushing record (1,446), touchdowns in a season (19), and most points in a season (114). The Central defense came up with big interceptions when they needed big plays. Mehall played a great game as well but FH couldnt get anything going through the air. Next weeks District Championship should be a great game.

Who are you? I am sure you are a very successful bleacher coach. Why dont you apply for the head job when it opens, you seem to have all the answers. The only catch to coaching at a public school is you will not be able to recruit. You are a joke!

Re: Central vs Forest Hills
Good picks, from both PsuDefense30 and CentralAlumni61. Both within a couple points on the final score. I'll echo some of the points on here: the most -opportunistic- team won; not necessarily the better team, although FH showed how many underclassmen they had on the field by some of their defensive lapses, AND the 3 picks didn't help. McCarty was off the field for a good portion of the game, and when he came back, he wasn't near 100 %. The D backs have got to stay with their man. Once they saw a backfield scramble, they took off into the line, letting those 2 long td's happen once the coverage broke down. On Runk's reverse- the ball was juggled, he didn't have control when his knee was down, or it would have been a B I G loss in the backfield. After shutting him down in the first half, he had a great 2nd half. Congrats to the Dragons. Your return to Sidman was finally victorious. Red Devils 27, Scarlett O'haras 14.

Re: Central vs Forest Hills
I'm so happy for the Scarlet Dragons. That game last night was one of the best games I have ever seen. What an atmosphere, Centrals fans out numbered the forest hills fans at Miller Field. After the years of getting pounded by the Rangers, it was emotional to see this Dragon team pull off the impossible. I was in Roaring Spring around midnight driving through, and was cut off by fire trucks, ambulances and police cruisers with lights and sirens and 25+ vehicles of faithful fans escorting the team bus to the field house. There was people on the streets of the community cheering the team as they passed. What an experience and hats off to Forest Hills. What a game and good luck to Central next week against a great Central Cambria team. People should be there to support these underdog Dragons!!!!!

Re: Central vs Forest Hills
Just a correction, Glesner threw 4 picks not 3. (1) tipped pass, (2) linebacker picked a pass off intended for the back (3) Deep pass #12 picked off (4) #83's int to win the game

Re: Central vs Forest Hills
I will be one to say what is Bailey doing with his team. One of the WORST play calling and decision making I have seen in a long time. Glessner ha another CC game throwing 4 int.. You would think to yourself why is Bailey throwing the ball. If he didnt throw it and kept running it FH wins 40-15. As te int. set up Central up Beautifully for their touchdowns.
I also question the two kickoffs. I do not care about the wind or what ever you guys are talkng about. FH IS LOSING THE GAME AT THIS POINT. Why would you give Central the ball when your losing. Wouldnt you want the ball. MY GOD.
Congratulations to Cetral though the played hard, like someone said scrappy, but def not better then FH. Mehall should of had 250+ if they give him the ball more. Def. the best back in this game.
