Don's Disciple wrote:Just because one poster claims that a bunch of drunken men were yelling racial slurs doesn't mean that this ACTUALLY happened to this degree. Also, the Johnstown players spend a lot of time doing "extra curriculur" things after plays (i.e. yelling at opposing players, hand gestures, pointing into the stands at opposing fans, late hits, #5 pointing at FH players after plays, etc.) and aren't exactly angels. Not that all teams don't do this to some degree and not that this would make the illeged racial remarks okay, just stating a point. Once again, for the second straight season, it's not a championship game if it's not labeled a championship game. If Johnstown wouldn't have dropped an easy won 2 years in a row against Central Cambria who had terrible teams both seasons, then they would be a championship caliber team outright. They didn't, so they are not. Simple as that. So I don't want to hear any crying from Jtown fans about the "real" champs. Sportsfan, how did the refs keep FH in the game at all? #5 kept FH in the game, and if Bailey would've realized this in the first half it might've been a different ball game. For all your "D1" athletes at the wide receiver/dback positions, #5 from FH, a junior, showed he was the 2nd best player out on the field behind #5 from Jtown.
Apparently the referees thought it was a problem, why else would they stop the game and call for police? Drunk aholes with nothing better to do on a Friday night and you guys are defending it.
As for your vague descriptions of Johnstown players please cite some examples. Better yet, watch your team lose the game when RMG puts out the gametape and you can tell me where to look on the tape where Johnstown players are taunting or pointing.
Johnstown's best DB Mark Watson was injured the whole second half. Is it not a coincidence that FH #5 had all his yards after his injury?
I like how you FH fans LOSE THE GAME but love to talk about other games teams won or lost. I've never seen anyone defend their team after a loss like you guys do.
Since you can't give me any specifics about Johnstown players tauting, I'll give you a specific. Watch #5 push the Johnstown defender to the ground on their last jumpball/touchdown. How do you think the defender ended up on his stomach?
It doesn't matter though, you lost again, and will get 2 more whoopings in boys bball. I would love to see what you guys would have said if you won. Oh well, you won't get that chance.

What's FH pushing a Johnstown defender to the ground DURING a play have to do with Johnstown taunting AFTER plays and BETWEEN plays? I think FH only plays GJHS ONCE during the regular season in basketball. I'm sure tha FH will beat GJHS in wrestling though. Guess B-Ball and wrestling will end up even. And nice excuse for #5's production. Oooooo...our player was hurt.

The guy wanted to know how the refs kept it close. I was giving an example of how a no call kept it close. Since I didn't give any specific examples of the taunting I thought I would give him a specific about some calls.
Excuse? Best DB gets hurt and doesn't play and that is an excuse? How many yards did the FH receiver have in the first half? I bet less than 20.
Wrestling? HAHAH! Forest Hills beat Johnstown in girls soccer so I guess you win.

....And now about the game itself. 1) Why did penna take an intentional safety with a 23-8 lead in the 4th quarter and 2) the GJHS offensive sequence BEFORE the blocked punt was the worst clock management I've ever seen in high school football.
....1) With over 8 minutes left in the game, GJHS had a 4th down inside their own 5 yardline. They had a lead of 23-8. Now anybody who knows math would have understood that FH would have needed 16 points to win. FH would have needed 2 touchdowns and 2 two point conversions to get 24 points and win the game. Everbody knows how hard it is to make a 2 point conversion twice, let alone score 2 TD's in 8 minutes. So what does Penna do, he takes an intentional safety, giving FH an opportunity to win the game with 2 TD's and 2 extra points. So after the kick after the safety, what does FH do??? They march down the field and score a TD. Not needing the 2 point conversion anymore, they kick the extra point and now are only down by 6. By now, the Trojan fans are $hitting their pants, knowing that the game is in jeopardy. This then brings up point #2.
....2) Now with 2:55 left on the clock and FH having NO timeouts left, Johnstown gets the ball in their own territory. Surely they will run the ball and eat up most of the clock (since FH can't stop it). So on first down, they try some kind of handoff which goes for a 6 yard loss. OK, at least the clock is still running. On second down, Simon tries some kind of sweep around his right side. But the genius RUNS OUT OF BOUNDS STOPPING THE CLOCK!!!!! He had plenty of opportunity just to fall down and keep the clock running, BUT HE RAN OUT OF BOUNDS!!!!! Now that brings up 3rd down and the clock is stopped. So instead of at least running the ball again to eat more clock, SIMON on 3rd and 16 THROWS AN INCOMPLETE PASS!!!!!! THIS STOPS THE CLOCK AGAIN!!!! So instead of running 3 downs and eating up most of the 2:55 left when the drive started, there is STILL 1:44 left on the clock and they have to punt. BY now, GJHS fans are ready to upchuck, as FH should get the ball back with 1:35 to play and only needing 6 points to win thanks to Penna's intentional safety!!!!! And believe me, FH was looking good for a final drive. And Oooooo....don't forget Mark Watson was hurt....Oooooo. What are they gonna do without him?????? Luckily for the "beware of Greeks bearing gifts" Trojans, a FH player runs into the punter. Johnstown wins. And considering Johnstown having just beaten FH on FH's home turf, cheering is minimal from the Johnstown fans. They breathed a sigh of relief. They KNEW that last night was there lucky night.

Maybe they were saying to themselves, "Isthmus!" "Isthmus!" As in- "Isthmus be our lucky night!"
