I'm sure Zmijanac is an exception. Do people make important decisions because of exceptions??? So ANYONE who ever played varsity football in high school coul'd be a head coach? Just curious.

To add to moldy's point, Zmijanac has players every year. Would he be considered a "good coach" if he were at Ferndale all these years? There are many people in aliquippa that doesnt think much of him. You should have heard their fans b*tch about him at the tyrone game. Just saying.

The OG knows people, who know people, who know people.

I think all Ranger fans can agree that it would be nice to see Westmont return to their former selves. During the late 90's, FH and Westy was one you could circle on the schedule every year. It has been sad to witness a once proud tradition fall so far from what it used to be.

IMO...Westmont made a great hire going with a guy who played there during that period of strong Westmont teams. They have a guy now who one would think gives a hoot about all the traditions that come with that program. If anyone has a shot to turn this thing around it should be a guy like HC Barron.
And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!

Nice to see Westmont return???? How about all the OTHER teams? Go back 15-20 years. EVERYBODY was tough, except for Vo-Tech. Westy, CC, PC, Heights, Bedford, Ridge, Somerset (until the late '90's), BC when the first joined. Shouldn't we long for the good old days of LHAC football.

Heres the problem about the yearning for the "good old days" ... there is alot more competition for the talent now... used to be football was the fall king ... now there are state contending cross country and soccer programs that kids participate in. The talent pool is diluted and alot of the coaches of all the sports involved dont want to "share" kids.

I am looking forward to Coach Barron's optimism and energy on the Hilltop .. its long overdue!!
