Thomas Tournament
Re: Thomas Tournament
I have never wrestled nor have been a referee so I don't have a clue about what it is like to be out on that mat. If I ever decided to be a referee tho, I would make certain I could continue to perform the job or I would not put myself thru the abuse.
However, I am puzzled by this..... Both Snyder and Lascari say that Mr. Diehl counted out LOUD "one....two...." and both thought Josh got the back points on the tilt. I've been told that when a wrestler thinks he has the points then this changes the way they are wrestling in that situation. Don't know though since I've never experienced being in that situation. I have to continue to wonder...Why did Mr Diehl count ..."One, Two" and then not give the points.
Mr. Referee from the other district. ...Is this common practice to count this out but then not award the points. This could not have been something these two wrestlers thought they heard?
Any way... It sure was an exciting finals.

Re: Thomas Tournament
hey i respect these guys.... i have talked to them on more than one occasion, but they havent been on the top of their game as of late.... i really hope for their sake and the sake of the wrestlers that they step it up for the post season...
and as far as saying they are putting the best officials for the post season is not always true.... (Example: The Steelers Playoff game vs The Colts.... Polamalu play) yea thats right professional ref's were in the wrong and im sure they have been in the game all their lives too but as you can see, even professional board (like in the NFL) can make a mistake on who they choose to officiate!!!!
and counselor good call with the instant replay...
More on the count it was almost a 3 count unless moving your arm 2 and a half times in the counting motion is disreguarded now adays....

For all you bleacher side refs, instead of second guessing the refs who give their spare time to the love of the sport, take the PIAA referee test and get out on the mat and call a good match as to how you would see it. Referees will make bad calls, but the mark of a championship type wrestler is to adjust, adapt and overcome.

i just want a straight answer no defensive statements.... just give me an answer!!! Should you be able to take away a 2 count?
honestly i was right beside the mat and i didnt hear deihl do a two count...i did see his hand move once but when i didnt hear him say anything....now in joshs and tonys situation maybe they both did....but theres no hard feelings between each other and they know its done and over with.....you see bad calls anywhere you go...no human being is perfect
