Week 9 scores and updates!
Re: Week 9 scores and updates!
I was at the game on Friday night in Saxton. For those who think Mt. Union isn't legit because of one game is crazy. MU has a lot of its front seven banged up, and a dismissal from team occurred early in the week. Everyone wants to rush to conclusions and are too quick to hate on MU. Tussey played an extremely good game, and had a great game plan. MU was in TM back field all night, tussey misdirection offense was getting the best of an over aggressive defense. Mount Union didn't even show have of their offense either, like mentioned earlier, they barely had the ball. They were scoring that quick. Bottom line, TM caught MU looking ahead to senior night and an undefeated season since 1993 on the line in now this weeks game. They will clean up their turnovers, get healthy by time Central comes calling.

All teams have injuries at this point. Give Tussey credit they hit the Trojans right in the mouth.

Looking past a 7-1 Tussey team for which was basically the ICC title game to Senior Night against Penns Valley?? Not gonna buy that one. And as someone else mentioned all teams have injuries at this point. I'm sure Mount Union has a good team and that is not being disputed but it just seems like every time there is a negative critique about something in one of their games the excuses just come flying in from all directions.Stater32 wrote: Bottom line, TM caught MU looking ahead to senior night and an undefeated season since 1993 on the line in now this weeks game. They have had two tight games littered with turnovers. That would be a concern if I was on the side line.

A win is a win, no one will truly know how good any team is until the postseason begins. Whether you believe MU got lucky or not, they won the game. If they are a weak team, they will be exposed in the playoffs. But until then, hats off to them for a great win over a Tussey Mountain team that is a favorite to win D5 A.
Re: Week 9 scores and updates!
I gave Tussey Mountain credit, they are a good football team. I can't speak on other schools, but being a graduate of Mt. Union. Senior night when you're on the brink of doing something that hasn't been down in two decades is kind of a big deal. The players are looking forward to being honored after the game, and other activities. So when you say not buying it, don't compare your school to a school, that you have no idea how they do things. Secondly, IMO if Tyrone or Central would of struggled or got caught looking ahead. It would of have been acceptable because of their schedule, playing in the Mountain League. I don't think the ICC takes a back seat to the Mount league this year. All you hear about is how bad Mt. Union schedule is. From top to bottom as a whole conference ICC has more quality teams. IMO everyone gives the Mount League teams a pass every time they struggle or lose, then criticize an ICC team and question if they are legit or not. Example, All I heard that week was how Tyrone wanted revenge, and undefeated season was on the line vs. Clearfield. How they were going to dominate the line of scrimmage and ultimately win by +14. Then they get fairly handled on their home field, and get exposed in areas. Yet no one said a word. Mt. Union beat Bellwood in the same manor, had a couple issues but dominated the game. We ask how did Tyrone do against BA. Even though BA blew a 14 point lead, and it ultimately came down to the last play. Everyone's answer was "well it's a rivalry so all that doesn't matter" like really. Tyrone even got them on their home field. All I'm asking of is consistency. Also to stop treating the Mountain League, like the Media does the SEC.

Re: Week 9 scores and updates!
Ill break down how many playoff teams each d6AA team has played, and beat.
8.) Southern Huntingdon-1 Everett. (Possibly 2 with Williamsburg)
7.) Huntingdon-0
6.) Forest Hills-1 Penn Cambria
5.) Penn Cambria-0
4.) Juniata- Not really sure because they play district 4 teams only d6 team they played was Penns Valley, and they struggled.
3.) Central-3 Tussey Mountain, Clearfield, Huntingdon.
2.) Tryone-3 Bellwood, Central, Huntingdon. (Gets 4 with a win over Ridge)
1.) Mount Union-7 Huntingdon, Southern Huntingdon, Mo Valley, Bellwood, Northern Bedford, Everett, Tussey Mountain.

Good thing is that everything will get settled on the field and Mount Union will get their chance so I'm not sure why you guys are getting so upset...

Re: Week 9 scores and updates!
This tells us what? That Mount Union can beat 5 A teams, and probably the lowest 2 D6 AA playoff teams? Mount Union is very good, but it's not like this shows they play a superior schedule. I would rather have FH schedule and lose to BG, Somerset, Jtown, and probably Bedford to prepare me for playoffs than beat Mo Valley, NBC, Everett, and Southern. Like mentioned, they will get their chance and best of luck to them, just saying that beating 7 "playoff teams" shows nothing.hampstercage wrote:Ill break down how many playoff teams each d6AA team has played, and beat.
