in the sense that the reigning 3 time champs got beat, yes. on the field, no not really. this is a very good HC team that found a weakness. Something a few others saw earlier this year. Many thought this was the year BG could lose, and they did. What a great run they had though.

Congratulations to Coach Page and the entire Homer Center team.  BG had no answer to stop the big backs of HC. Curiously, BG made no adjustment to stop HC rushing attack, sitting in that 4-3 defense all night. However, the biggest BG  coaching blunder came after BG final touchdown. Instead of utilizing one of their biggest weapons and kicking deep, Coach Wheeler pooch kicked the ball and Homer Center started at the 40 yard line. Not sure what the BG staff was thinking. Homer outplayed mighty BG and was definitely out coached. Finally, can you believe BG was taken down by the second place team from the lowly Heritage Conference.

Question is with this 1st chink in the armor does BG recover and become dominant again or does this start the decline and they lose 3 or 4 games next year.

Something I heard that is really respectable is that Mike "Bassa" McCracken, #35 for HC who ran all over BG last night, and scored the winning TD, completed Army basic training over the summer and is an active member of the Reserves. Just another reason to cheer for HC.

That's great. As someone that did that (back when we fed our jeeps corn) I can tell you it's not easy for a 17 yr old. I was proud then and although I don't know him, I'm proud of him.

Michael Bassa McCracken is a native of Liberia Africa and was adopted in 2007. He is indeed a US ARMY reservist and finished basic training at Fort Jackson SC, two weeks before the first game of the year and 20 pounds lighter than he had left. He will leave for AIT on May 31, 2018 which means that he will sacrifice "walking" at HC graduation. He was inspired to join by his older brother who is a 12N at Fort Stewart GA. We are very proud of our soldier(s).
