FWIW this year's FH barely beat the best 1-7 team I've ever seen tonight.

Just to clarify, there is no doubt the LHAC is the best conference in the area.

Where we disagree is when you bash CH for moving to the Heritage.

If CH was still in the LHAC they would be the smallest school in the league and the only NON-PUBLIC Single A school in the LHAC.

In the Heritage, CH is in the middle of the pack according to size and that allows them to be competitive.

Would they be more prepared for the playoffs going through the LHAC...YES!

BUT It was the right move for CH at the time based on their enrollment.

It is no fun being the smallest fish in the sea!

To send a positive to CCDevil. Central Cambrias field is nice. I could go there to watch a game anytime. Very nice facility overall.

I can appreciate that. My intent wasn’t to bash Heights, I feel they were competitive in the LHAC. It’s just when our program is made to look inferior to programs in other conferences when the LHAC schedule is brutal as you know. In the last 5 years I think we’ve had some 4-6/3-7 teams that would have been 8-2 in other conferences, but you play who you play. We didn’t make the playoffs the year FH snuck in as the 8th seed and beat everyone until Richland. That year I think CC was the the 2nd or 3rd best team in D6 AA (IMO) behind Richland but we didn’t even make playoffs.

Wasn’t trying to bash though, was more so to get some conversation about whether or not it’s better to have regular season success but early outs in the playoffs or have less success in regular season but make deeper runs when you do make playoffs.

I think Northern Cambria won a D6 championship out of the lowly heritage recently. How many has CC won recently? But at least CC was prepared for the playoffs with there tough schedule, now if they could just make the playoffs.

Good subject. I believe if you’re a program that has struggled for many years, having a lot of regular season wins can be important. It energizes the program and makes more kids want to play. Even if you don’t do well in the playoffs, it moves the program forward.

If you’re a team that has done well in the regular season for a long stretch but hasn’t made progress in the playoffs, maybe toughening up the schedule makes more sense.

Either way, the kids that play have no say in the matter. They can only play the schedule the school puts in front of them.

Thank you for making my point!! Yes, Northern Cambria won D6 in 2022, thanks in part to BG being forced to play AA.

Would Northern Cambria even have made playoffs last year if they had to play Bedford, Chestnut Ridge, BG, Central, Penn Cambria, and Richland in the regular season? Because those were 6 of the 7 losses CC had last year.

I guess my issue is I wish playoff seeding took into account strength of schedule more than it does.
