The FH Rangers beat those other Trojans, the ones from JHS, finally, yesterday. I'm not saying we dominated this game, but I have a couple thoughts I propose to all. Just who was it that thought Helman was such a good, dominant pitcher? Opinion Guy must've had this one nailed, that the Trojan-men were "saving" him for FH. Where are these bigtime college prospects on Johnstown? Shouldn't they be carrying this team to win after win? The results are disappointing. Why does the JHS board agree to send this team clear across the country to get whipped when that happens here, in this area? Wouldn't the money spent by every Trojan involved be better served somewhere else, say in the TRACK facility where this weeks' LHAC meet was supposed to be, except JHS HAS NO POLE-VAULT PIT!!! That's why it was moved to Somerset. Just some observations, and food for thought.

I'm not disagreeing with you here Pale, but I think you have to look at the same shoe on our foot this season.

Where have FH's college prospects this year? Pretty much non-existent. This senior class is supposed to produce the most college baseball players out of any class that has ever graduated from FH. And these guys are SENIORS. I for one have been VERY disappointed in the play of the FH upperclassmen (juniors included) this season.

One thing with Johnstown is that their players are always going to be hyped. Dee-Dee does a good job with that. These Trojan "prospects" are all underclassmen. Helman is a sophomore, and he will be the best player to come out of Johnstown since Casey Long. I believe all of Dee Dee's "young" talent is all sophomores and freshman. I will touch on this one later

I would bet the house they saved Helman for us. Remember though, Helman, a sophomore held a senior dominated FH team to 5 runs and gave the Trojans a chance to win the game.

I agree with the fact that it is a disgrace that Johnstown doesn't have a pole vault pit. That's a joke.

I am pretty sure however that the baseball team fundraises that money for the trip.

As for the general idea the Johnstowns player are over hyped. Absolutely. Just traveling back in time 10 years I can think of a number of players who dawned the Trojan uniform who were highly over-rated.

Opinion Guy- Your points echo every one of mine. Maybe you were able to elaborate better than I, I concede your baseball knowledge is probably much greater than mine, esp. when it comes to the current and younger players. The points I need to elaborate on- IF, the folks and sponsors at JHS can come up with the $$$ to send these players on a deserved road trip, WHY can't they find the funding for the needed track improvements? I also am aware of all JHS' underclassmen. You pointed out the FH Seniors. Well, FH is 12-5. JHS is ....what? A record with more losses and a great deal of promise. Look at the younger FH kids also. It's not like every starter from FH is a Senior. Myers. Jennings. Gallaher. Oswalt. Minor. That's only 5 seniors out of the entire team. Lots of good young talent to blend in.

In the paper today I saw the teams were Heights, Northern Cambria, Central, and Carroll. But since Carroll was kicked out, I dont know who will replace them.

I talked to the jv coach tonight and he said that bc will be allowed to play because there isn't enough time to find a replacement on such short notice.

Matchups:
9am- CH vs BC
11am Northern Cambria vs Central
1pm- Losers of first two games
3pm- Campionship Game

There will also be a fastest runner contest and a fungo accurracy contest for the coaches (weather permitting)

I believe Captain Dean usually gave those out and he hasn't been to a game all year...someone else will have to step up I suppose.
