I just listened to Greencastle Antrim and Susq. Twp on the net and it was a great game to listen to. There is about a minute left in the 4TH OT!!! It looks like state finalist G-A is going down finally after fighting back a ton of times. The one team is now down to like its 12th player according to the announcer, haha.

Since this was a semifinal game, was the loser eliminated from the playoffs? Or does D3 operate like the WPIAL, sending a plethora of teams to the state playoffs? btw, who actually won this game?--i can't really tell from the previous posts.

thanks coach, if I remember correctly, I think Susq. Township lost to General McClane last year, which went on to win the state championship while led by Drew Astorino(a current psu football player). I've seen S.Twnshp. ranked as high as #2 in the state for AAA...but the Harrisburg Patriot-News rankings sometimes has homers giving props to the local teams, so take it for what you want. They are a very athletic team, they outmatched CC last year in the state playoffs. I think the loser of the D6 championship game (either JTown or CC) will travel again out to Hershey to play the 1 seed from D3 (i.e.), S. Township most likely.

Assuming that CC wins Saturday (they won by 20+ in the other two meetings) Johnstown would trek east to play the D3 number two seed. Who might that be?

And while were on the subject of the D6 AAA game, I know that the winner of it will playing the WPIAL 5th seed. Any ideas on who that might be?

The district 3 championship is set between Steelton-Highspire and Susquehanna Township. The loser of that game would play the loser of the Johnstown-Central Cambria game.

G. McLane is in the west and beat G. Antrim in the state finals. Sus Twp was in the western bracket and played C. Cambria. They won that game. They also played in the game that all sorts of people complained about... vs. Grove City at Somerset. Antrim was the 5th seed out of D3 last year and made the PIAA finals.

The winner of D6 will play whoever lost to the future WPIAL champion in the quarterfinal round. Here are the scenarios for the winner of D6 to play the wpial's 5 seed: 1.) If Chartiers Valley wins the WPIAL, the D6 winner would play Steel Valley. 2.) If Blackhawk wins, D6 would play Ambridge. 3.) If Hopewell wins, the opponent would be Keystone Oaks. 4.) If Greensburg Salem wins the WPIAL, CC or JTown would play Highlands. I think it was previously mentioned on another thread but the WPIAL seeds teams for the state tourney based on a "runner-up" system. Here's a link to the WPIAL's AAA bracket: it should clear things up a little bit. http://www.msasportsnetwork.com/bracket ... sp?div=aaa With the runner up system, the WPIAL champs are the 1 seed, the loser of the championship game is then the 2 seed. Whoever lost to the 1 seeded champs in the semifinals is the 3 seed. The loser in the semifinals to the eventual 2 seed is seeded 4 for states. Whoever lost to the WPIAL champs in the quarterfinal round, then, is the 5 seed, and so on.
