Pirates take advantage of Red Sox and Dodgers

I can't believe I am typing this, but the Pirates made a big trade today and did very well. They received Andy LaRoche, whom is the brother of Adam, and has a very bright future. Also, they got Craig Hanson. He is a good middle reliever that could become the Closer of the future for the Bucs. Moss is a decent platoon player that could turn into more for the Pirates in the future. I don't know much about Morris, but I hear he has some upside. The Red Sox got worse by this trade and the Dodgers added a headache to their team. Good job, Pirates. This move is a step in the right direction for their future.

Havent they been taking the steps into the "right" direction for the past 16 losing season? Why do they trade away All-Stars and get nothing for them, but a bunch of minor leaguers?
All I gotta say on this one is: TYPICAL PIRATES

LaRoche and Hansen can be called minor leaguers, but that's not really the truth. LaRoche was up at the big club, but Blake DeWitt took his playing time and Hansen pitched like 30 innings this season. Also, Moss has played some games in the big leagues this year. They got 3 players that will more than likely be on their roster tomorrow. The other player will more than likely be in AA or AAA. Bay was not going to stay with the Pirates after next year and his value would have dropped at the trading deadline next year because teams would have known that the Pirates had to get rid of him. I'm not a Pirates fan, but they got the best of this trade. Unlike their other trade, I think this is actually a step in the right direction.

I typed this in another thread not realizing this thread was here but these are not A projects, the players the Pirates got are MLB ready. If you watched any Bucco's this year you would know they give up 8 runs by the 3rd inning. They have Moss, McCutchen, and Morgan all close to being major league ready now in the system so why keep 7 outfielders on your roster. They went out got 5 pitching prospects and still have McCloth and Micheals to be the leaders of the outfield. Great Moves.
