First of all, I'm all about teams who are running out a funny bit. Texas Tech's offense is a bit. I appreciate the comedy of it, and I like when they score 70 points against Florida International. But, like my Toof N Nail cohort Christophurious said yesterday at PSU, "It's when you try to claim legitimacy that gets me irritated." Don't act like Texas Tech acts and then want people to take you seriously. We all know Mike Leach is losing at least 2 games this season. I dont care if you went out and got a new DC, your team is a joke. And that's fine, and I like that, but dont pretend you have any business in the top 10. There's 30 teams better than Texas Tech.

2. You should be punished for these asinine schedules, NOT REWARDED. Okay, the NCAA went to a 12th game, if you want an extra home game for extra revenue, I'm fine with you scheduling a I-AA opponent. But I am NOT fine with you playing TWO of them. Why in the hell was Florida State put in the top 25 last week after wins over 2 I-AA teams, both of which were doormats even by I-AA standards? You've got to be kidding me. FSU has done NOTHING to deserve a ranking in the past 5 seasons, let alone after 2 wins like that. And you saw last night exactly why FSU shouldn't have been ranked. That's exactly what is gonna happen to Texas Tech when they play Oklahoma and Texas. They'll probably lose to Kansas, too. But yet TTU has played TWO I-AA opponents, a terrible SMU, and a Nevada team who will do decently in the WAC this year but will never beat a BCS school. You're telling me that Texas Tech deserves to be ranked at 10th in the country? They should have DROPPED spots after those wins over I-AA schools. That'll stop people from scheduling them pretty dang quick.

3. I am changing my Texas Tech placement in my top 25. I pretty much didnt realize they had 2 I-AA teams scheduled. Their offense is great, but there is no way in hell that team should be ranked higher than 17th. Ever.

4. You know what is happening to Florida State? Karma is punching Bobby Bowden in the face for him racking up 400 wins against those garbage teams for 30 years. What a joke. And they actually tried to compare Devonte Richardson to Charlie Ward last night. I dont seem to recall Charlie Ward throwing 15 interceptions on 15 passes. Florida State has had garbage quarterbacking for a decade. Chris Rix was horrible, that Sexton idiot was complete garbage, there was some other white kid in there, Xavier Lee was the biggest bust in the past decade, and then Drew Weatherford. Drew Weatherford is so good that he has 33 career starts and he is right now 3rd on the depth chart behind 2 of the worst quarterbacks I've seen this season so far. That FSU program built a dynasty because they were the only decent school in that terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible conference. The ACC was as good as the Sun Belt is right now. Put USC in the Sun Belt this season and you are seeing FSU when they joined that garbage conference. The universe will always balance itself out and give people exactly what they deserve. They are getting exactly what they deserve.

Good point TAE....just like psu these last few years with all the arrests/charges..etc. Joepa's time is due. it finally is catching up to psu. For all those years people thought they did it the right way, but now it is catching up to them. Yes Ham, I know there are other schools that do it to, besides psu.

As for Bobby Bowden racking up wins vs. the grapefruit league teams, you better check the jokesters early games on his schedule and also check out his wins before they arrived in the big 11.
I do believe paterno has scheduled a few 1AA teams in his time. And some pretty bad D1 schools as well.

Oh, I'm not ducking Temple and Rutgers. 180 of those 400 PSU wins were against Temple or Rutgers practically. But at least PSU played good Syracuse teams, Alabama, Notre Dame, USC, good Pitt teams, etc.

We all know how much college football has revolved. JoePa and Bowden have been around too long. They can't necessarily relate to kids anymore. They use to be able to get away with anything in colleges. It's not like that anymore. If you do something bad, it's on a site like this within minutes. Older coaches do not have a good handle on their programs anymore. They may still field good teams, but not great ones.
