What Is Going On At Westmont

:?: What is happening at Westmont? They were one of the preseason favorites to make some noise in the LHAC. They have a huge line, great skill players, and the seniors were undefeated in 9th grade. Now they are 1 and 4. Does anyone have any insight as to what the problem is?

I think Keklak is a good player and everyone knows about Valcheff by now, but they hardly have ANY other skill players, let alone "great" ones. Thier line is big, thats a fact, but they dont drive off of the ball. They weren't driving Somerset off the ball and the Eagles looked like little kids playing against WH. Somerset dug down when it counted as did BC.

It's all McLaurin's fault!

Westmont is really underachieving.
They are a half desent team.
2 OT losses.
close one to PC.
blew it against BC
a few breaks here and there they might have 3 or 4 wins.
Valcheff is a big time player.
Keklak is as tough as anyone in the league and hes been their playmaker through the first 5 games.
They have size.
Problem id have to say would be tehir lack of a definate QB. Swick and Keklak and even Eckenrod have all played the position.
Big game Saturday against McCort. But i just look back on recent history and its hard to say this will be a close game. McCort is just dominating recently.
Im saying the Crushers win big 3+ TD victory.
but i dont think Westmont is a bad team....They need to work some things out and try to win a few games for some respectability.

The McLaurin comment was sarcastic.

I don't understand why they just don't make the change at quarterback already. I think Swick would be better off playing wideout, Keklak under center and putting McKolosky at running back. I believe it was his older brother who was the big player at tailback when Kanuch was keyed on so heavily years ago.

You have to considerthough as a coach should I take my top Back and put him into the quarterback position. Most of the time maybe 99% of the time the answer is HELL NO!!!!!!!! But in Westmonts case it looks like they have to mix something up to start winning these games. They have one of the hardest schedules left and it didn't help them by putting FH into the slot at week ten. I liked wtaching this team play when I got to see them I hopethey can put a run together and get int the playoffs.

I don't seem to understand why you think the solution is replacing Swick at quarterback, an offensive position, when the true problem is Westy's defense. Either way, Keklak is still getting a good 30-40% of the snaps. If the Hilltoppers can get their defense together, then they could definately make a run at playoffs...especially when you consider the competetion for the eighth spot.

you have to be 5-4 to make the plyoffs correct?
I think Westmont is a half desent team but they already have 4 losses and they arent beating McCort or Forest Hills(if that game even counts) So its tough to say that they will get in the playoffs. And the competition for the 8th spot isnt great but if you look at it...Ligoneir will likely get it for who they play. Westmont has a lot tougher schedule and is probably the better of the 2 teams. But too many close loses for Westy and it looks like it will be close to impossible to dig out of the 1-4 mess they put themselves in.
