Well we have 6 weeks in the books and for the most part we know what each team is about this year. Both divisions could be locked up this week, or both could play out to next week (that’s if Glendale beats Bellwood, lol)

Let's get to the games shall we...

Bellwood @ Glendale - Glendale needs to just get through this game healthy. They would have been better off spending this week getting ready for next weeks game with Claysburg. They finish with CK and Tussey and could legitimately win both and make the playoffs...then get taken behind the woodshed by McCort. What’s up with Bickford, is he hurt or what because he only got 1 or 2 carries last week. His stats aren’t the best but he is still their best offensive weapon. Bellwood continues to roll towards a week 9's potential ICC Championship Game presented by Dr. Pepper against Mt. Union in a few weeks.

Claysburg @ Mo Valley - The knights took quite a beating last week, much different outcome than I was expecting. I figured they would come out inspired with their undefeated record on the line against the cream of the crop in Bellwood. Nope. Claysburg is another team that wouldn't mind sneaking into the D6 playoffs but they have to win 2 out of 3 to finish 500 (vs. Glendale, @ Everett). If this game was in Bulls Crick I could see Mo Valley having a bit of a hangover and maybe letting the Dawgs hang around, but not in Houtzdale. Mo Valley wins this one and the next 3 to finish 9-1, and lose in the first or 2nd round of the playoffs...

Juniata Valley @ West Branch - Yawn, JUNIATA VALLEY 26 WEST BRANCH 12

Southern Huntingdon @ Northern Bedford - When you lose arguably your best player who happens to be your QB you can expect a drop off, but wow did Southern go in the crapper or what. The Rockets went into the meat of their schedule 3-0 then lost the next 3 by a combined 478-0. Wouldn't be surprised at all if SH ended the season on a 6 game losing streak (TM and MV at home) Meanwhile the Panthers are playing their best football. The offense has become more balanced as the season has progressed and the defense has been stout after a poor week 1 showing. NB doesn't lose much at home and SH is in the dumps. NB wins and sets a 'potential' ICC South championship game next week vs. MU.
NORTHERN BEDFORD 27 SOUTHERN HUNTINGDON 14

Tussey Mt. @ Williamsburg - Tussey hasn't done much to help itself out thus far. These have some quality athletes, and in some cases more talent than teams they have lost too, but they just don't seem to have what it takes to win the close games. Whether it's character, experience, overall toughness, I don't know but they just don't seem to have 'it'. Williamsburg is hopeless. Hopefully the Lee kid is ok, he is a good athlete and seems to be a good kid.

...and possibly the game of the year, Everett @ Mount Union
Everett's offense is clicking on all cylinders right now, 40 plus the last two weeks, and Mt. Union is doing what Mt. Union has done all year. This is an interesting match up because of how the two teams contrast. Everett likes to spread you out and would rather beat you through the air. MU likes to grind it out on the ground and play ball control. What position does Fortson play for MU? All I know is he is a beast on the wrestling mat, probably be a HWT this year right? Anyway back to the game, a lot of people are on the Trojan bandwagon, but lets look a little deeper shall we. The combined record of the 5 teams Everett beat is 11-19 (and a tight loss to league juggernaut BA). The combined record of the 5 teams Mt. Union beat is, get this, 5-25!!! That’s right they've beaten all the bottom feeders, WB, TM, SH, JV, and Wburg. The only barometer to what MU is all about is the 7-6 loss to Huntingdon in week 1. EVERETT wins and locks up the ICC North.

Bellwood-Antis at Glendale

Bellwood clearly made its case last week that it is the class of the ICC North. Glendale has rolled after starting slow and should probably make the playoffs at 4-5 as the 15th-16th seed. The Vikings will do what no team has done since week two and that's score, but unfortunately for the Vikings, this week won't be one of those four wins. Bellwood-Antis 35, Glendale 6

Claysburg-Kimmel at Moshannon Valley

As I said in the playoff thread, and S Cube said in this thread, this looks to be a must win game for Claysburg-Kimmel, as they need 2 of 3 to make it into the playoffs. Moshannon Valley got schelacked by Bellwood last week, while Everett, the Bulldogs week 9 opponent, lost by only 4 points to the Blue Devils. I look for Mo Valley to right the ship this week and get back to their winning ways in a quest for a home playoff game. Moshannon Valley 28, Claysburg-Kimmel 6

Juniata Valley at West Branch

The winner gets their first, and only, division win of the season. Juniata Valley is the better team and will prove it Friday night. Juniata Valley 35, West Branch 13

Southern Huntingdon at Northern Bedford

Southern sure has slipped since Crull went down with an injury. The Rockets playoff hopes are dwindling fast, but with Tussey Mountain next week their still very much alive. I hope they don't come out knowing they could potentially fall into the playoffs with a win over the Titans next week, because the Titans are currently playing much better football than the Rockets. Northern Bedford is looking to keep pace in the ICC South and has been playing good football since the early season loss to Moshannon Valley. Look for the Panthers to keep on a roll. Tussey Mountain at Williamsburg

Tussey has been oh so close, with the exception of Mount Union, in just about every game this year. I think this one will be more of the same as the Blue Pirates will put up a valiant effort against the Titans. Tussey Mountain 20, Williamsburg 18

Game of the Week

Everett at Mount Union

Homecoming in Mount Union tonight, standing room only expected, between two teams with playoffs on their minds and identical 5-1 records. The records though are where the the similarities end between these two teams. Everett is quick and spread the field, while Mount Union runs the ball right at you over and over again. Everett had a tough time stopping the Trojans run game last season. Now the Trojans line up with 6 or 7 backs deep, versus just 2 last season, most of whom pick up 3-4 yards and a cloud of dust. This game could come down to which defense can get more turnovers/stops, as both offenses will put on a show. However I think the real factor for the Warriors is how well they handle the 60 mile bus trip and the long halftime for homecoming. Mount Union 33, Everett 20
