Everything is going good right now for Dave Wannstedt and Pitt. His team beats #10 South Florida, they move into the AP Top 25, they land 4-star recruit Brock DeCicco and now they get a verbal commitment from 4-star wide receiver Todd Thomas. Pittsburgh Sports Insider has been told that within the last hour, Thomas officially announced that he wants to become a Panther. Thomas selected Pitt over UPS, Michigan and West Virginia. Thomas is rated the #23 receiver in the country by Rivals.com and the 7th best prospect in the state according to Pantherlair.com. Offensive coordinator Matt Cavanaugh has to like the idea of throwing the ball to Jonathan Baldwin and Thomas. The Beaver Falls recruit is the 13th verbal commitment for PItt.

Great pickup, but I dont see this news anywhere. You been reading so many psychology manuals that your head is all screwed up or what?

Better Pitt than Michigan, and I honestly mean that. If we can battle in-state, that would be awesome.

I just looked it up on Rivals that said he would be making his decision tomorrow, which was on the 15th. I couldn't find the article to say he committed. I will take Vman's word for it.

I hope you didn't jinx Pitt, because the latest news on Thomas is that he has NOT declared for Pitt. Not saying he won't, but you know what I mean.

Just back from w/e fishin trip......but tp, did hear last week that Cheek was 'blown away' by his Pitt visit & was impressed by facilities, coaches (told that B Knight is lead recruiter) & players...reportedly communicated that Pitt vaulted to top of his list but his other favorites are heavies....U Conn, Memphis, Kansas & Villanova.....Cheek is returning for a formal visit on Oct 30/31 and is scheduled to visit Kansas in upcoming weeks.

So being that he was impressed, you can almost say he turned the other cheek.
