I am EXTREMELY surprised that PSU only dropped to 7 in the AP and 8 in the USA Today poll. I thought for sure they'd be hovering around 10 in both.

Why? They still only have 1 loss. Boise State is probably the only team that might have been able to jump them. Every other meaningful team behind them has two losses.

Well if PSU can win out they can still be looking at a chance to be ranked in the top 5 by bowl time. They are 7 now, Flordia and 'Bama will play, Texas Tech and Oklahoma will play, Oklahoma plays Oklahoma State, Texas may have a championship game. USC is really the only team in front of Penn State with an easy road ahead.

The AP and USA Today poll somehow has FLORIDA ranked ahead of TEXAS???? Let me see here, Texas LOST on the ROAD to what appears to be a very GOOD Texas Tech team. Florida with TeBLOW, LOST at HOME to an UNRANKED Ole Miss team...WTF? I think the coaches out there are drinking a little too much cool aid!!!
The BCS is a JOKE and ALWAYS has been...once again we are all fooled into believing that it would be "too demanding" on the "student-athletes" to have a playoff...what a joke! I'm sick and tired of hearing all these ANALysts...shut up already and lets settle all this talk about "toughest" conference on the field, not some BS bowl game where no one gives two cents anymore. Back before the BCS, the bowl games meant something, and teams that played in them earned their spots and were proud to represent their school and conference, nowadays it's all about the EXTRA revenue these bowl games and sponsors can suck out of us...68 of 119 teams will play in a bowl game this year...LOL!!! Basically what this boils down to is that as long as you can manage a .500 record (being in one of the BCS conferences) you will most likely get a bid to one of these RIDICULOUS bowl games, which I'm pretty sure some of the early ones start BEFORE the fall semester ends (TAE double check me on that), which means that it must be for all those "student-athletes" to be preoccupied with a STUPID bowl game (just so the University and Conference can pocket some cash) instead of the FINALS...I guess that isn't "too demanding" for them.
I love to watch college football during the season, but unfortunately it's becoming pointless...the system is corrupt, it's now becoming more about "politics" than what is done on the field. I will flick through the bowl games this year, but I'm not going to make it a point to watch them...I'm fed up with this system and until it's fixed I'll just enjoy the regular season. TAE, find some old school bowl game we can watch over Christmas when I make my pilgrimage back home from the desert.
Can ANYONE JUSTIFY why in the HELL Georgia is ranked so HIGH in all the polls? Who have they beat besides and OVERRATED LSU team? If you go into the 2 biggest games on your schedule and get beat down more than Rodney King by the LA Police at HOME, you DON'T BELONG anywhere near the TOP 10!!! At least Ohio State went out to USC and got blasted, and I think if they played Pryor more that game would've been a lil closer.

Just got the PSU / Alabama Sugar Bowl from 75. I'll see if I can dig up some Michigan stuff.
