i have a feeling that if JoePA hadnt gained such a reputation at happy valley, that he would be gone, but he is basically as legendary as the nittany lion itself! most coaches in his position would be in the unemployment line monday morning. but i am glad that hes staying, i like his attitude and hes a great coach...mayb a few replacements on his staff would help out next year.

I think JOE is a great coach!! he needs to start playing the best kid at each position, regardless of whether he is a fresh., soph., jr., or sr. the days of making each kid pay his dues is over. the rest will take care of it's self, the recruiting and so forth!! also, he needs to get rid of JAY P. he is causing too many waves..

Teams go in cycles. You are up some, then down.

I don't know...this is a part of the cycle that PSU has never seen before. They have recently experienced some of their worst seasons in JoePa's tenure and it is starting to become regular for them. I think JoePa is losing the stuff.

I think JoePa is losing his stuff. It seems that he just can't or chooses not to adapt to the changing of the game. You can't fire the guy though because he made Penn State the program it is today. He has put in some great years and helped out the program so much, but I wish he would retire and let someone else give it a try. I hope this will be his last year as coach of Penn State or if he is going to stay at least make alot of changes. Penn State football needs to return to the elite program it once was.

I just can't imagine Penn State football without JoePa. What a culture shock that will be when it happens. Maybe there will be some good out of it however. Possibly the new coach could convince the powers to be to return PSU to their roots..eastern football. The Lions just seem out of place in the midwest. Not that they can't compete in the Big 10..because they surely can....I just never felt like they fit in that conference.

For everyone out there that thinks JoePa is losing it, your all wrong!! He had a very young inexperienced team last year. He's not losing anything wait until next year when there in the top 15 and the year after when they hopefully and probably be competing for a national championship. So whe that happens I want everyone who says he's losing it to come up with another excuse for joepa. HE IS PENN STATE FOOTBALL!!
