How bout this playoff...

4. Texas 10-1 vs 5. USC 9-1
winner plays 1. Alabama (63) 11-0

3. Oklahoma 10-1 vs 6. Penn State 11-1
winner plays 2. Florida (2) 10-1

Winner of (4/5 vs Alabama) would play (3/6 vs Florida)

I'd watch it...and so would all of you...

Id prefer 8 teams 1 plays 8 and so on

I think having 6 teams then have 2 play-in games. That way there would be room for two more teams in the play-off and more than one garunteed spot for a non-BCS conference champion to prove their mettle.

Set the rules something like this. All BCS conference champions get automatic bids, they may have to play a "play-in game" if they are not in the top 8 in the BCS. Seeding follows the BCS standings. At large bids ( non-bcs conference teams, or BCS conference teams that did not win their conf. championship) cannot be seeded higher than a the team that won the conference. Following this weeks BCS standings this is how I would set it up.

1 Alabama
2 Texas
3 Utah
4 Penn State
5 Oklahoma
6 Florida
Play in game 1
Oregon State vs. ACC champ, winner playing #1 seed Alabama
Play in game 2
USC vs. Cinncinati, winner playing #2 seed Texas

Or, even take it to 12 teams with 4 play in games. Something like this
1 Alabama
2 Texas
3 Oklahoma
4 Florida
5 Utah
6 Penn State
7 Boise St
8 Oregon St
9 USC
10 Cinncinati
11 Boston College (or acc champ)
12 Ball State


So it would be teams 1-4 with a bye
#8 Oregon St vs #12 Ball State, winner playing #1 Alabama
#5 Utah vs #9 USC, winner playing #4 Florida
#6 Penn St vs #10 Cinncinati, winner playing #3 Oklahoma
#7 Boise St vs #11 Boston College or ACC champ, winner playing #2 Texas
