Auburn pulls an Auburn / PSU note

The worst-managed football program in the nation has outdone themselves again. This was the most important hire, maybe ever, for Auburn, and they completely "crapped" the bed. I'm sure the people in Tuscaloosa are excited for Auburn handing Alabama a national title. The countdown until the rest of those Auburn commits jump ship has already started.

Gene Chizik has never stolen ONE recruit, regardless of star level, from any team while at ISU. There is a very good chance he was on his way out at Iowa State! The Iowa State free message board on Rivals has been thanking Auburn for taking him off their hands. The Auburn board is in total catastrophic meltdown haha. Wow, this hire is beyond pathetic. The only guy they could have hired that is worse than Chizik is Dan McCartney, who, coincidentally enough, was the HC at Iowa State before Chizik!

If any of you guys want that Iowa State job, hurry up and send your resumes, because everyone interested (including us on BC) is overqualified.

The good thing about Chizik taking that job means Turner Gill will probably get at least one more year in NY to build recruiting pipelines. Gill is the guy I want at PSU (I've been saying this for 2 years, I am not on the bandwagon) if not Greg Schiano. But Schiano has that clause that says if Rutgers goes through with the stadium expansion, he can't leave. They announced this week to start the construction, so I guess we will see.

Chizik won a National Championship in 2005 as the Defensive Coordinator. Everyone was glad when he left in 2006. That should tell you something about him. I almost fell out of my seat when I saw they were actually interviewing him for the job, then they hired him the next day. Why would Auburn hire a guy that had a 5-19 record at another school? It baffles me.
