New Coach at Lewistown

Steve Gutthoff, Tyrones' D-coordinator for the past 8 years was named head coach at Lewistown. He has previous experience being the head coach at Bellefonte and P-O producing one of the toughest defenses in the Big 8 while he was at each school. There had been word that he was detrimental to both programs. Having been around him, I can say with confidence that if there were problems, they were more with kids and parent attitudes than with Steve.
He will bring discipline and toughness to what has always been a talent laiden program. Their jr jigh has always been good, and when they hit varsity,...they seemed to fall into the abyss.I got a feeling thats' going to change, and with a 8-1 9th grade team last year(lost 37-7 to Tyrone), that may not take long.
