The United States baseball team was near elimination tonight when they were down 5-3 in the bottom of the 9th to Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico had mercy ruled them just a few days before, but the United States came back to score 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to advance. David Wright drove in 2 runs with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th to come out on top. I like their chances to win it all now.

Im surprised there hasnt been any other topics on the WBC.
I wouldnt go as far to suddenly put it out there that the USA is going to win it all. Granted we are obviously pulling for them, Japan is the team to beat still. They are a hell of a team. I dont understand the bracket that is online, but I hope in the end it comes down to USA playing Japan for the championship. That would definitely be more exciting that USA vs. Japan in a semifinal match. Im not sure how it would go according to the brackets.
Somebody wanna clarify the brackets for me if you could?

As I understand it, the USA and Venezuela are in the semi-finals. They play each other to decide their seed in the semis. Japan and Korea are playing tonight and the loser plays Cuba. Then the loser of that game is out. The winner of that game plays the winner of Japan vs. Korea. I am not exactly sure who the United States would play in their first game, but they are definitely in the semis. Their opponent will be decided after they win or lose their next game. It's very confusing.

Bud Selig has messed up many things over the years. One of the biggest mistakes he has ever made was not letting Mark Cuban buy the Pirates. He let them get a new stadium and stay in Pittsburgh. They haven't tried to win ever since. It's sad. Why not let them move to somewhere that fans care about something more than a winner?

There's probably 85% of the Mavericks fans down here who would tell the Pirates fans they were lucky Cuban didn't buy that team.
