Our God is an awesome God, he shines from Happy Valley above

Paul Jones quotes from today. Happy Easter, dirtbags.

Jones spoke with Tom Bradley and Joe Paterno yesterday and let them know that he is "still committed to Penn State."

"I still plan on going to Penn State next January as a student but I am looking around make sure I'm doing the right thing."

I know a guy who got engaged last October to a wonderful girl, but he's still "looking around to make sure he's doing the right thing".

Thank God, for a minute there I thought TAE was going to give us that old "if God wasn't a Penn State fan, then why is the sky blue and white" crap. And speaking of crap, how about "Paterno graduated from Brown, which was the color of the back of his pants after he ran off the field before halftime of the Ohio State game a few years back".

I see this morning on BlueWhiteIllustrated that PSU has offered a scholarship to Robert Bolden, a QB from Orchard Park, Michigan. Guess this is "just in case" Paul Jones decides do "the right thing" somewhere else. About his PSU offer, Bolden was quoted as saying, "Penn State is a great school, out there in Pennsylvania". Something tells me he's gonna major in geography.

Like usual, I am here to explain to Moldo the real answer to his inquiries! :D

They have been chasing Anthony Gonzalez from Bethlehem since Day 1. The staff is probably taking 2 QB's in this class. They want Gonzalez as a QB/Safety but he wants to play QB which is why Pitt is in the mix. See, Pitt is the type of school where a kid who has a obviously greater defensive future can go and start immediately at QB, and essentially "never grow up".

But as for this kid from Michigan, he's not the only QB they have contacted since Jones decided to take his visits. There's a lot of other QB's they are feeling out, some in prep school as well. I'm guessing there are 2 reasons for this:

1. Put Jones on the hotseat (which they have, and should have, from their perspective)
2. Penn State has gotten burned in the past with this stuff. Granted, they gotten their share of kids who wavered initially (Robinson, Engram, Ron Graham, etc) but they have lost QB sweepstakes in the past when they put all their eggs in one basket.

In the end, I think Jones ends up at PSU, and I think after the Blue and White Game it'll be a sealed deal with and a few other kids. But I don't blame him for looking around, and I also do not blame the staff for being cautious. Like I said a few times in the past recently, the staff is "wising up" to recruiting, finally.

Isn't Jones supposed to be at the Pitt spring game next week? That should about seal the deal for PSU.

Ol' Pitt is up to their b-level tricks again. Trying to steal Paul Jones by offering other players on the Sto-Rox team. Take a guess how many offers those kids have."One is the lonliest number..."
