In a move I did not expect at all, and I dont think anyone else did either, Pittsburgh Penn Trafford OG Luke Graham has committed to Penn State!
Graham is 6'5" 265, runs a 4.8 according to Scout.
He is listed as the #9 OG in the country.
Offers to: PSU, Maryland, Pitt, Stanford, Syracuse, and Virginia, Duke, UNC, FSU, NW, NC State. All very good academic schools. Except Pitt.
He had 12 offers overall.
Penn State has now received verbal commits from the top 3 players in Pittsburgh. Great thing also is that Pitt was feeling good about landing Graham.
He is now the 5th commit, we have what I can see as 13-15 scholarships left.

Such a great few days of recruiting for the Lions!!
I can hear the Pitt Spin Machine (all 347 Pitt fans and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette) right now: "Oh, his dad was a psu alum, so it was a no brainer that he would pick PSU."

or we could use the PSU spin, "We pulled his offer."
How about the 4 players that will be facing marijuana charges? I hope it wasn't Bowman because now he will be on triple secret probation.

Oh, 4 players are facing marijuana charges?
Monday's lesson of the day: one can never trust the online version of Penn State's student directory.
That became evident Monday afternoon, when the Centre Daily Times broke a story that Penn State police spotted marijuana in an on-campus apartment April 25, the night of PSU's annual Blue-White Game. The CDT report said four Nittany Lion players lived at the apartment. No names were mentioned by the paper, but the apartment number was.
It took diligent fans about 30 seconds to use Penn State's online student directory to link senior All-Big Ten quarterback Daryll Clark's name to the story. In the directory, Clark is (or was) listed as living at the same apartment where the marijuana was allegedly seen.
The good news for Clark was that he no longer lived at the apartment, having moved out following the fall semester. The directory just had not been updated. He was advised to call the office of the registrar to update his info ASAP.
The bad news for Clark was that by the time THAT news broke, the Nittany Nation had long since gone into full panic mode.
In any event, Clark was not named in any police documents. And sources close to the program and local law enforcement have said Clark is not involved in the pending case.
The moral of the story, beyond not trusting the online PSU student directory, is that there is not always fire where there is smoke.
-30-
Better luck next time, dingus.

The funny thing about the Nittany Nation being in panic mode was, that they were not concerned at all about Daryl Clark's potential life's problems. They were only concerned about Penn State being in the top 10 next year and how this could put an end to their hopes.

Who's fault is it if Daryl Clark is a drug addict? Daryl Clark's.

Interesting what is being lost here as Pitt fans (and Moderators....I'll have that post later) jump for joy over what turns out to be nothing, is that their idiot head coach cannot recruit (or score any points) to save his worthless hide.
PSU goes after the WPIAL recruits it wants and gets them. All Pitt fans get is yet another Pirate bobble head night at PNC park or whatever lame excuse they use to justify their miserable attendance at home games.

When asked what lessons were learnt from the 'time away' this neatly attired lion repllied "Oh we honed up on some traditional UPS skills like: shooting bow & arrowsinto interior walls, role playing prank phone calls (one per day), beating up on weaker, lower staus inmates who posed no threat to us & worked on being ridiculously stupid enough as to hang out in pot filled apts.; after the police stopped & went for warrants.....you know, same old stuff!"
