Big Recruiting Day for PSU/Pitt.

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

Pitt made a great pickup today when they landed 3-star ATH (Scout and Rivals both) Jeff Knox. Knox is from the Pittsburgh area I believe and is now living in Maryland. Great pickup, especially when the Pitt Nation needed to hear some good recruiting news. He's probably a Safety at the next level, and this is definitely a kid I wanted PSU to snag. 6'1" 180, offers from Penn State, Maryland, Illinois. Better Pitt than Illinois and Maryland!

NitWits didn't go home empty, though. 4-star DE (Rivals, 3-star on Scout) Kyle Baublitz from York has surprised everyone and picked PSU. Just a few days ago he told Rivals he was definitely wide open, and would not tip his hand. He's listed on Scout as a TE/LB but everyone says DE in college. 166 tackles playing middle linebacker his junior year, 6'4" 255. Offers from BC, Stanford, WVU, Pitt, Clemson, and FSU, that I can see. Baublitz is commit number 8.

I seen that Baublitz had something like 18 offers which were all to really good programs. He seemed to me that he had more interest than most players rated at his caliber. The only thing I seen on the kid that concerns me is a 5.00 forty time.

He hasn't timed in a long time. Guys from Central PA were talking about that too, and they all said he's faster than that. I'm not worried about it, he has one of the best D-line coaches in the country that is going to be working with him.
