Miles Dieffenbach was elevated to 4-star status after his performances at camps and Tom Ricketts was FINALLY evaluated, getting 4-star honors. 10 of the 13 commits are 4-star players, according to Rivals.

How come you didn't mention that Adrian Coxson fell out of the Rivals 250?

TAE also forgot to mention that Mike Hull moved up to 145 on the 250 list. :D

I forgot to mention that 40% of the Pitt recruiting class so far has zero stars.

Also didn't mention that Silas Redd cracked the top 100.

The Rivals-Scout PSU discrepancies are old news but how about this new one: Scout has Coxson as the 2nd best WR in the nation and Rivals doesn't even think he's a top 250 player.

Mike Farrell saw Coxson at ONE camp and decided he didn't like him. Coincidentally enough, Coxson went to more camps that had no affiliation with Rivals at all. Now, given that Coxson has one of the most impressive highlight reels in the country, how can 2 "experts" view the same kid and come away with such ridiculous discrepancy?

The answer is simple. One of those sites has nationwide evaluators and the other does not. One of them is more sport-inclined and the other is more entertainment-inclined.

I also didn't mention that Paul Jones dropped from the top 100, due to his foot injury. Despite getting an invitation to the famous Elite 11 quarterbacking camp (where he couldn't participate) he still dropped in the rankings. Rationalize that. Then rationalize for me how kids who play in big all-star games like the Big 33 and Crab Bowl (Maryland/DC) are still under-evaluated and are ranked as 2-star prospects. How in the hell can you be a 2-star player if you are invited to a big all-star game? That's Rivals for ya.

Rivals screwed Kersey out of his 4th star (taken away) when he was injured, they are screwing Jones, they are screwed Corey Brown (RB from Philadelphia) and they jerked Devon Kinnard around. How about this: don't say the kid is a worse prospect until he comes back and proves the injury HAS actually hurt his career.

The PSU coverage by Phil Grosz and Sean Fitz is unmatched. But as far as Rivals evaluations in the NE go... take it with a grain of salt.

In Pitt recruiting news, things are a little brighter for the Pitters today since FSU snagged a QB. That is one more step closer to Pitt landing Bethlehem "QB" Gonzalez. Funny thing about that is that Pitt is the only school who said they'd let Gonzalez play QB instead of Safety where he is a better college prospect. Where have we heard this before that Wannstedt and the staff are letting kids decide where they want to play? What's that tell you about Pitt when they are the only school chasing Gonzalez as a QB?
