I ended up having to pay a few more bucks a month for the BTN, down here in Texas. I'll tell ya what, I watched it a good bit the past few days (just got cable hooked up Thursday morning for football season) and I am actually very impressed by it. There's a lot of good stuff on there about research being conducted at the schools and old sporting events and nice previews. The production of the BTN gameday stuff is very good. Commentators were fine, too. The station LOOKS way, way, way better than ESPN or Fox Sports: the picture is extremely clear and looks gorgeous. I was actually surprised how well everything was done. Anyone else have any reviews? This was essentially the first time I ever had the BTN.

The announcers are biased. Of course, they work for the BTN. It's like Bob Prince doing the Pirate games years ago.

The BTN has made significant improvements from the last year (which was the first) in terms of production and number of programs. The BTN is on basic digital package here in Ohio. By far the worst program is that "Friday Night Tailgate" with those two scrawny idiots....it's hard to watch. While I enjoy the football coverage, I think the true value is in the non-football seasons when you can watch any number of sporting events that would never see mainstream media coverage like wrestling, soccer, baseball, etc.

Moldo, when does the Big East get their own network? Maybe Pitt can use it as a platform and hire Jerry Lewis to raise money for their poverty-ridden athletics department. A lot of similarities between the Big East and Jerry's Kids.
