Pitt vs. NC State talk

The Panthers travel down to Raleigh for their first true test of the season. So far the offense has looked sharp on the ground and through the air. Dion Lewis has been having a huge first three games, im looking forward to seeing how he will do against a BCS conference caliber team. For as much criticism a college QB can receive, Bill Stull has put together a very nice 3 game stretch. He has committed only 1 int and avoided a lot of stupid plays he has made in the past. The keys for him this game are to use all the weapons around him. Nate Byham is being severely underused this season, i would like to see him thrown to a few more times. The offense by no means is a juggernaut but, I can see a HUGE difference in play calling this season. Cignetti appears to know what hes doing. Big game for the O Line as well.

Defensively they should know whats coming. Its hard to say how good NC State really is. They put up 3 on South Carolina and then came out and dominated two 1-aa teams. I would say they are somewhere in between those results. Russell Wilson will be the most athletic QB we will see all season. But is nothing like Pat White. They are going to come out and challenge our pass defense. Taglianetti going down really hurts the secondary but its about time Elijah Fields starts getting on the field. He has way too much talent to be playing Nickel his junior season. Interesting to see how the LB situation will play out. Pitt MLB's have had the past 2 player of the week awards. It looks like Mason and Gunn will see playing time. Who will start is the question? I think we will contain the running game. We just need to avoid Wilson scrambling around and hitting the weak links of our defense.

I think this will be a good football game and a good test for Pitt. I think Stull will once again will manage the offense. Dion Lewis will have another sturdy performance. And the defense clamps down. I'll take Pitt 21-13.

NC State is a major disappointment. I thought they had a chance to contend for their division, but they're terrible. Unfortunately for Pitt, NC State sucks.

I really think Pitt wins this game huge. I'm talking like 25+. When I saw NC State, they had absolutely nothing.

PITT will win in a close game. They will win on the defensive side of the football by stopping the run and containing the passing game. It will not be a pretty game to watch but PITT's just a better team than NC State right now. NC State's crowd will keep them in the game until the end, but Dion Lewis and Ray Graham in the backfield and one deep pass to Baldwin will be too much for the Wolfpack to handle.

PITT wins 41-34

If you stop the run and contain the passing game, I hope to God you don't give up 34 points.

NC State is good.
Russell Wilson is one hell of a football player.

Our Defense was horrible
our play calling on the last drive was also terrible.

Better fix some things if were going to compete the rest of the year.
