Sharif Floyd - Where is he going?

I had thought that Floyd was basically in the bag for PSU. However, this weekend, I heard that he cancelled an official visit to Happy Valley and is now planning to visit OSU. TAE, you normally know more about this stuff than me. Where do you think he is going? Also, do you really think OSU has a shot at landing Henderson, Hicks, Floyd and Anderson? That would give them 4 of the top 20 recruits in the country, but none have committed yet.

I'm sure now that he's bagging PSU, that the Nitters will say that they don't want him anyway, and that his academic performance doesn't meet PSU's rigorous standards.

Hey Titan, I know you're probably too busy being worried about what happens at Penn State, but did you see Pitt won this weekend? First time they have been 7-1 since your Marino Jersey was used as a kleenex. You should start watching them. If they can avoid losing all three of their final 3 games, they might make a decent bowl game. You should check it out.

I was at the game with the 25 other fans in the stands (tic).

Weren't Wally Richardson, Zak Mills, and Ants Morelli supposed to be the 2nd coming of Danny Marino?

Don't they all have as many rings as Marino?

Wildcat,

Floyd cancelled the visit b/c he has been to PSU a number of times. He was never a "PSU lock", but it seems we might be in the driver's seat. Won't know until January, when he announces.

PSU has 3 remaining scholarships, and it looks like they are basically holding them for DT Floyd, DT Thorton, and a CB to be named. They'll make room for Lattimore, but we all know that he's a longshot.

D-Line recruiting has been very good so far, and is deep. Already have 2 DT commits and 2-3 DE commits. There is also a lot of interest from JUCO DT James Carmon, who is massive. They'll probably "make room" for him too if needed.

As for the OSU recruiting...

I heard that Hicks is a OSU lean but that Florida is a big player as well. Looks like Texas has lost some ground. Last I heard on Henderson was that he was an OSU lean. 4 of Henderson's final 8 or 9 are B10 schools, so that's good for the conference. Which Anderson are you referencing? I can dig some stuff up if you have a 1st name.

TAE, please tell more. I haven't heard that. In fact, my sources say it's between Texas and Florida and that Ohio State has a chance, but it's minimal. They think he's going to UF.

Sean Fitz posted this, but I dunno when...

Hicks has narrowed his list to five schools - Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Texas and USC.

I saw an article dated Oct 15th in which it seemed like OSU and Texas and Florida were all big players. I think I saw the OSU/Fla think in one of Mike Farrell's weekly whispers, but that had to have been 2-3 weeks ago.

Found this:

Linebacker Jeff Luc of Port St. Lucie (Fla.) Treasure Coast also was considered a FSU lean at one point, but now appears to favor Florida and Tennessee. Actually, Luc may not be as high on the Gators' list as some think, as the Gators are higher on linebackers Jones and Jordan Hicks of West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West.

If Florida is slighting Jeff Luc they have got to think they are in good position with Hicks.

I was talking about Latwan Anderson from Cleveland Glenville. I can't get a read on him. Rivals loves him as a 5-star athlete. ESPN hates him and has him at 3 stars. I was more interested in the other three. The thing that makes me wonder about Floyd isn't that he cancelled the visit to PSU, but that he is visiting OSU. I didn't remember him showing interest in the Buckeyes before.

Well, cancelling the PSU official gives him room to take another one.
