Penn State's loss isn't a bad thing

...at all, for the Big 10.
For the first time since 2004 the Big 10 will only have one team going to a BCS bowl(assuming Ohio State rolls next week). This will not skew the bowl match-ups and will create a very good situation to pick up some of these 'coveted' wins. Wisconsin is a good team. Penn State is a good team. Ohio State is as good as anyone in the country on D right now. Iowa is stubbornly good.
As it stands right now, Ohio State will go to the Rose Bowl to take on Arizona. Wow.
Iowa would go to the Capital One bowl to take on the SEC's 3rd place team(Bama or UF will be in NC game. Loser of the Bama/UF game will be an at-large bid). Probably LSU @ this point.
Penn State would go to the Outback Bowl to take on the SEC's 4th place team. Probably Auburn/Georgia.
Wisconsin would go to the Champs Sports Bowl Miami/Boston College.
I like all of those match-ups for the Big10.
Northwestern is also bowl eligible at this point. They're most likely heading to the Alamo Bowl and would face either Texas Tech/Oklahoma. Holy points being scored here.
For the first time in 5 years the Big10 will not have to play 'up' in bowl season. The loss for PSU was a blessing in disguise for PSU and for the Big10. After watching that game today, there isn't one team that is going to be playing in a BCS bowl game that they could beat.
If the Big10 could go 4-1 in the bowl season, that will restore some of the perceptions of the league.
I hope that Michigan doesn't win another game and become bowl eligible. That would be horrible for the league, for they would surely get killed.
