Should these teams get a major bowl bid if they win out?

Boise State has a signature win over Oregon, who beat *USC*

TCU destroyed BYU, who beat Okhlahoma.

TCU had the second highest scoring (?) defense last year behind USC.

1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Texas
4. TCU
5. Cincinati
6. Boise State
*barring all teams win out
**Florida vs Alabama in SEC Championship

Just give Boise and TCU the Fiesta Bowl....they can argue about whose the better non bcs team themselves.

Gonna tell you the same thing I tell my one friend who is trying desperately to convince me that Boise and TCU deserve BCS bids...

You have to look at the BOTTOM of those conferences to gauge if the conference itself deserves to have a BCS team. They do not. You cannot convince me that either of those teams plays quality opposition every week. The bottom feeders in the BCS conferences would all demolish the bottom feeders in the WAC and Mountain West.

My advice to Boise State is to start petitioning the Pac-10 to move to a 12-team format.

Don't believe Boise has the grades to live up to the Pac-10's academic standards. Could be wrong though.

I think with both of these teams, the "eye test" is very important. TCU is a VERY good football team. They are probably better than the Utah team that beat Alabama last year. Now that I said that, they will probably lose this weekend to Utah. However, I think TCU might be the most complete non-BCS team we have seen yet. I think the Utah domination of Alabama should open people's eyes to how good the teams at the top of the MWC actually are. If TCU were to play any of the top 3, I don't think we would see a blowout.

Boise is a different story. They have consistantly not fared well when going outside of the WAC. This year's Oregon win is being overblown. That was not the same Oregon team that beat up on USC. Boise just gave up 34 points to La Tech. I don't see Boise as being a great team.

I do think this presents an interesting scenario. If both of these two go undefeated, how do you keep one out of the BCS? There are not other good at-large candidates like there have been in the past. I hope they both make it, but I think money will dictate otherwise.

As for PSU, I can't see them making it. There are other at-large teams that have done more and will travel just as well.

Wildcat, I disgaree about the traveling thing. Name those at-large schools.

Special Note: By no means do I agree that PSU deserves a spot. But they'll get one.

With TCU... we have seen this before with them, and they always choke. Time will tell.
