We jsut got doen with our first look at the new style of tournaments. you know the ones where a team wrestles a team.(not so sure if theyre new but what the heck)I thought it would be a hundred times better thna the traditional individual tournaments but they both have theyre strong points.
Old style:lots of free time to eat get pump watch your possible apponent
New style: intensity of a dual meet good oppritunity to get some experiencepeying attention to wrestling all day(not sure if that last one is good or bad)

your thoughts on whats better

Oh yeah we got a good taste of wpial wrestle and it is superb compared to district 5/6 we went 2-3 and wrestled our balls off every match (yes CR and FH we do have balls) and were humbled those three that we lost and estatic from the close match on the ones that we won. definately a different experience

speaking strictly from a spectatur i like the old individual style, it gives people a chance to see wrestlers better and also wrestling seems to b more of an individual than a team sport, kind of like track and field...while u r trying to do good for the team, ur also out their for personal benefit...ur team may not win a district or state title but u still can so it makes it that much better i think

I liked the dual meet tourney's better, because at fort cherry this weekend there was alot more exciting, because for most of our matches we went straight from finishing one to starting another, it keeps the adrenaline up. At individual tournaments you wrestle your match, then go and watch matches that possibly have nothing to do with you, with the dual meet tourneys you can watch the rest of you team wrestle then get ready for your next match right away

It is ok, but if your team is bad and you are good, then your whole team is out including the good kids in the first round.

Can someone explain the new tournament style for me?

yeah im not to up to date on that one either

not new, just dual meet tourneys is what gumboots is talking about
