Woerst player in the NFL.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel William Gay is the worst player on a starting roster in the NFL. It has been obvious all year that teams are picking on him. I don't see any part of his game that is even average. The stillers made a mistake letting McFadden go. I like Townsend but at his age he is only a nickel, dime guy at best. They really needed to make a move to replace McFadden and never did.

Willie Gay....good Nickel back. Poor Starting corner. I told people last year that losing Mcfadden would hurt. He was a key piece to that defense. Keys to Steelers defensive demise.
1. Polamalu being injured
2. Losing Mcfadden to Free Agency
3. Losing Aaron Smith
4. Farrior aging
It all adds up to a defense with holes.

Farrior has been much more quiet this year. And I don't think Timmons is good against the run. But if you are going to lose to the Chiefs and the Raiders, there are a lot bigger problems than one or two players.

The run defense isn't the problem. You can't continue to let bad teams hang around in games. The defense hasn't been as stellar as it was last year, but that was to be expected after losing a pro-bowl caliber guy like McFadden. BUT, the offense in 3 of the last 4 losses they've had have been the problem.
Cincinnati's defense has been a sieve for years. Even lowly Detroit managed to find the endzone this week. Could the Steelers @ home? Nope. What about the KC game? Sure, they had a nice lead at the half, 17-7. You've GOT TO EXTEND THAT LEAD against a crappy team like KC. They've been in a quagmire all year. I don't care what Roethlisbergers numbers have looked like. Obviously they're not getting the job done.
And then you have today. 83 yard kick-off return on the opening kick. Couldn't even get a first down and had to settle for a FG. Next possession they had the ball deep in the redzone again. Went for it on fourth and a footballs length. QB sneak. Brilliant plan with a QB who's coming back from missing a week with a concussion. Stopped short. End of the 1st half. In great position to get points at the end of the half. Ben forces a horrible decision and it gets picked off. That's 6 points off the board, fellas. That's the football game.
As bad as the D has been at times this year, the offense sure as hell hasn't helped them out very much when they've had the opportunity to do so.

That was a moronic call. 4th and 1 early in the game and you run a QB sneak head first into the line with a QB coming off a concussion. What a dipsh!t.
I'm a Bruce Ariens hater. Between the 20's he looks like he knows what he's doing. Inside the 20's he's lost

the defense is down no lie, but I attribute alot of yesterdays issues with CArter, not GAy or Taylor. the long touchdown looked like a missed assignment by carter who got sucked up on the play action when it was supposed to be cover two behind. Gay is not a corner, he is a nickel. Farrior is aging, but he still brings it. Alot of the times, the offense attacks him by making him cover a running back, Ray Rice the other week. He is not a cover backer and everyone knows it. timmons, in my opinion, would be the weak link at linebacker. Yesterday on the first fourth and one instead of covering the flat, he and Woodley both rushed the passer and the running back got out and caught the first down. He had a play last week in the Cheifs game where he was supposed to cover the seem and he came running down hill and had a ball lofted over his head for a first down.
I would agree with alot of what ham said. Redzone offense is horrible, I think Bruce forgets we have one of the best tightends when we get down there. If you get first and goal on your first drive of the game against the Raiders you have to come away with 7. And the qb sneak Ben may have called from the huddle.
