Interested in what you think about this. Leach is no saint but I feel that firing the HC over 1 incident is a little much. Looks like Adam James has a nice track record.

Texas Tech better make a good hire after this firing or their program is back to being nothing. I'm not a big fan of Leach, but the man knew how to coach an offense. He completely turned around the Texas Tech football program with a bunch of players that would never step on the field at most other universities. It will be interesting to see where he ends up now.

Probably not.

I remember a story about a player whose mother called to complain that her son (and the team) were not being given enough water breaks during two-a-days. The very next day, the coach called the player (whose Mom had called to complain) up in front of the team and announced that no one, except that player, would be allowed to have any water all day. All he could do was sit beside the water cooler and drink and drink and drink. Let's just say that the Mother never made another phone call.

thats about the dumbest thing a coach could do. There are much better ways to improve mental toughness than risk the good health of your own players.

I would classify that story under "urban myth", but I bet it has happened in some form once or twice. And for the record (since I need to restore my credibility) I agree with you that there are better ways to approach that subject.
