Well, they lost the B10 opener, but Minnesota is a better team. The PSU losses are at least close losses and are not blowouts. Gotta look on the bright side, I guess. Maybe next year they win those close games.

I see that Taylor Battle played ALL 40 minutes of the game. What's up with that?

I knew losing Cornley would hurt...but not as bad as it is killing them. Andrew Jones hasn't really grown as a player from last year and that's frustrating. I was hoping to see him become more of a physical Big Ten type of player. They should have a team next year that is definitely capable of making the tournament and being a top 3-4 team in the Big Ten. I'm glad to see they are improving now from where they were earlier this season.

It's still December, and we're already hearing "Wait til next year". Unbelieveable.

Yeah that is unreal huh?

They have 5 losses already and aren't in position to be successful this year since they have no big man. They are also starting two freshmen (Frazier and Edwards). They can hang with nearly anyone because of Battle's ability, but yeah... you'll have to wait til next year to see more success than they'll have this year.

Let's put it this way, they are competitive every night. Baby steps.

Does anyone else see the similarity between PSU basketball and the Pittsburgh Pirates. It seems both teams are ALWAYS in rebuilding mode. Penn State is not a basketball school and until they hire a coach that will light a fire in the program they will hover in mediocrity. (And yes, winning the NIT is a mediocre achievement at best). It's like being the best team not invited to a bowl game.

Obviously it is not the same as winning the NCAA tourney, but I don't know how you can consider it a mediocre accomplishment. They won a playoff format. That in itself is nice. You have to start someplace. They won the NIT, and have played much more competitive basketball the past 2 seasons. Do u expect them to just all of a sudden make the final four? This is a learning process, and not just for the players, for the coaches, and for the ppl handling the program. This is unchartered waters. Give it this season and next and then we'll pull the plug on Eddie. But from what I can see, hw HAS lit a fire and HAS recruited better.

Baby steps is O.k., but PSU men's basketball is headed for 6th grade. If you can't walk by then......
